11 months agoI'm a patient and understanding person, but this is ridiculous!! I've experienced the WORST customer service ever, dealing with Good Helpers! My initial call to get my a/c started was back in May, a month later still not resolved. The communication has been terrible, the inconsistency with the staff/technician is poor. I had an appointment set up for Wednesday June 4th, and the technician no called/no showed. That same appointment was rescheduled for Saturday June 7th it was canceled on behalf of the company and rescheduled for Monday June 9th, FINALLY a technician came out, and the job couldn't be completed. The owner gave me some bull shit excuse about not wanting to pay for Freon, and I have a older unit.. My appointment was rescheduled for Tuesday June 10th Moving forward the owner stated he personally would come out to my home for The installation, a NEW a/c unit would be installed and offered me $100 for my inconvenience, lastly all warranty would be converted to my name.. Tuesday morning A technician surprisingly showed the a/c unit is hooked up, they swapped my larger unit and replace with a smaller "used/refurbished" unit.. But the job wasn't completed because an electrician had to come out. The technician who installed the a/c said he would return after the electrician..Great job to the electrician he did his part... Still waiting for the technician to come back and finish. I called the office regarding the unit being used, and I was expecting to meet with owner today, I was told by office staff they would Call me back.. No one has followed up with me.. My fiancée and I both reached out to the company/owner via text/ phone call no response from anyone. The most important thing is I still can't use my a/c unit. This has been the absolute worst experience.. Just Over promising and under delivering.. As of Wednesday June 11, my air isn't working.. I'm still waiting on the technician to return and finish the job. Its so frustrating that I cannot use my central air at my leisure. I had to go out and buy fans to keep cool. As the customer, I should not have to keep calling the office to get this resolved. I'm Very disappointing how this has been handled. -

3 years agoGood Helper's Heating and cooling did an amazing job. I had no ideal that my furnace was a fire hazard waiting to happen. They moved my furnace from my crawl space to my enclosed back porch. I also like the fact that a woman was part of the crew!!! Girl power at its finest!! I will most definitely use them again if needed!!!

FAQ
Does Good Helpers Heating, Cooling & Labor Services LLC offer free estimates for HVAC services?
We provide detailed written estimates after inspecting your heating or cooling system to determine the scope of work needed. Pricing depends on factors like the type of repair, equipment required, and labor involved for tasks such as furnace startups or AC installations. This approach ensures you receive an accurate quote tailored to your home's specific needs in Detroit.
Are you licensed and insured for HVAC work?
Good Helpers Heating, Cooling & Labor Services LLC carries the necessary licensing and insurance required for HVAC contracting in Detroit, MI. Our team handles refrigerant safely and complies with local codes for installations like furnaces and water heaters. Homeowners can request proof of these credentials before we begin any project.
Does Good Helpers Heating, Cooling & Labor Services LLC handle furnace relocations and rooftop HVAC unit installations?
We manage specific tasks like relocating furnaces from crawl spaces to enclosed areas and installing large commercial rooftop HVAC units. Our services also cover ductwork setup and outdoor AC unit placements as shown in our completed projects. These jobs require proper sizing and safety checks to ensure efficient operation in Detroit homes and businesses.
What should I expect for scheduling and arrival times with you?
We schedule appointments with clear arrival windows and arrive on time for seasonal startups, repairs, or installations. Timelines vary by job size, such as a quick fix versus a full furnace move, but we communicate expected completion dates upfront. This helps homeowners plan around our visits without unexpected delays.
Does Good Helpers Heating, Cooling & Labor Services LLC clean up after HVAC installations and repairs?
We thoroughly clean the work area after every job, leaving no debris behind from furnace installs, AC setups, or water heater replacements. Our crew uses protective measures like drop cloths during the process to keep your home undisturbed. This standard practice ensures your space is as clean as we found it, focusing on your comfort post-service.
Why is hiring you safer than attempting HVAC repairs as a DIY project?
Professional handling prevents risks like identifying fire hazards in furnaces or improper refrigerant management, which DIY efforts often miss. We follow installation standards for equipment like OXBOX units and Bradford White water heaters to avoid efficiency loss or system failures. Homeowners gain peace of mind knowing trained crews address Detroit's unique challenges without endangering safety or property.
