1 week agoWe have used Boyland Electric to service our generator for the last several years after purchasing our house. We continue to be very pleased with the service and response times. We recently noticed our generator wasn't working right before a big snow storm and were grateful that they were able to fit us into their schedule to fix the issue before the storm hit. We are renewing our contract for another year. -

1 week agoI have used Boyland Electric fort 5 years. I use their service to keep my system in top working condition. I pay a yearly fee and they come out twice a year and replace what is needed and verify the system is working. I have had to use the system a number of times and it always works! Thanks to Boyland I feel I do not have to worry about my generator. -

2 weeks agoCame within an hour of calling when a tree fell on a power line near our house and our generator refused to start. This was after unsuccessfully contacting our normal maintenance company's "emergency line" numerous times without a call back. We will definitely be switching to Boyland.

FAQ
How does Boyland Electric Inc. determine the cost of a whole-house standby generator installation, and can I get an estimate?
We price each standby generator project based on your home's electrical needs, the generator size, fuel type, and the complexity of wiring, piping, and the platform or pad required. Site conditions, distance to your electrical panel and gas or propane source, and any upgrades to your existing electrical system also affect the overall cost. We provide custom quotes after evaluating your home and discussing which circuits and appliances you want to power during an outage. Estimates are offered so you understand the scope, equipment, and installation steps before any work begins.
Are you licensed and insured to install home standby generators and perform electrical work?
We are a professional electrical contractor that specializes in installing and maintaining whole-house standby generators and home backup power systems. Our work involves precision wiring, correct transfer switch integration, and code-compliant piping and platforms, so we operate under the licensing and insurance required for this type of electrical and generator installation work. Our team follows manufacturer specifications and local codes for generator placement, wiring, and safety clearances. Homeowners can expect permitted, inspected work where required, and a focus on long-term safe operation of the system.
What specific generator and electrical services does Boyland Electric Inc. handle for home backup power?
We handle complete whole-house standby generator installations, including Kohler and Generac units, from site preparation to final startup. Our scope includes installing the concrete or custom platform, running and securing all electrical conduit, wiring the generator into your main panel, and integrating the automatic transfer switch. We also take care of the needed piping connections in coordination with your fuel source, such as natural gas or propane supplied by others. After installation, we offer long-term generator service and yearly maintenance agreements to keep your backup power system ready for outages.
How far in advance should I schedule, and what is the typical timeline for a generator installation with your team?
We recommend contacting Boyland Electric Inc. as early as possible, especially before storm seasons, so there is time for site evaluation, equipment selection, and any needed permits. Once equipment is available and permitting is in place, a typical residential standby generator installation usually takes from part of a day to a few days on site, depending on the complexity of the wiring, piping, and platform work. You can expect clear communication about start dates, daily arrival times, and any steps that might be weather-dependent, such as pouring or curing a concrete pad. Our team walks you through what will happen each day, from setting the generator to final testing and homeowner orientation.
When Boyland Electric Inc. installs a generator, how do you handle cleanup and the condition of my yard and home afterward?
We plan the job so that debris from trenching, drilling, and mounting the platform or pad is contained and managed throughout the project. Packaging materials, scrap conduit, wiring offcuts, and any old equipment we remove are gathered and hauled away or staged neatly for disposal, depending on what we've agreed on in advance. The area around the new generator, conduit runs, and outdoor electrical panels is left organized and accessible for future service. Inside your home, we take care when working near your main electrical panel and leave the work area tidy so you can use the space normally once we are finished.
Why is it safer to have you install my whole-house generator instead of trying a DIY installation?
We work with whole-house standby generators every day, so we understand the electrical load calculations, transfer switch wiring, and safety clearances needed to keep your home and utility workers safe. Proper installation prevents dangerous backfeeding into utility lines and ensures that the generator only powers your home through the correct transfer equipment. Our team also knows how to place the generator on an appropriate platform, route conduit and piping correctly, and follow local electrical and building codes. A DIY install can miss critical details, while our professional approach aims for safe, code-compliant operation and fewer problems over the long term.
