9 months agoOn May 23, 2025, around 12:50 pm, the driver of Floormax vehicle 5GA0359 was driving like a madman cutting across all the lanes on route 40 to get to the left lane. Multiple cars had to slam on their brakes, including myself. I had my baby in the car and I honked, barely making it to stop. He then continued to make gestures and, might have given me the middle finger, while I drove past. This is outrageous. Will never consider floor max for service. -

11 months agoI forgot to mention the name of the amazing sales representative who was the reason I left such a rave review. Patrick S. was by far the most helpful and honest person I've dealt with in a long time. I needed the flooring samples for a home in another state and had trouble with getting help from several local stores (if I wasn't buying from them...too bad). He asked me what color samples I needed and contacted the manufacturer directly. I had my samples within a week! I will direct anyone looking for flooring in Maryland to this young man. He is definitely an asset to FloorMax, give this guy a raise! -

11 months agoInferior service, inferior product. The wood they sold me as "most durable" looked like garbage after only a few months-and I have no pets, children, and dont even wear shoes in my house. Dropping your cell phone on the floor instantly leaves a dent. Still finding glue marks and spacing between slats a year later. When I contacted them immediately after install and told them of my issues with the wear, they told me "that's how hardwood floors are, you have to be careful with them". I've lived with hardwood floors for 30+ years, including three full renovations. I recommend you go elsewhere-ANYWHERE else. -

1 year agoAmir and his crews did a wonderful job on my floors. The first project was refinishing my 1932 hardwood floors and replacing a section. The second project was installing a luxury vinyl floor in my bathroom. I highly recommend them. It is the quality of the work that matters most for floors.

FAQ
Does FloorMax offer free estimates, and how do you determine the cost of new flooring or carpet installation?
We provide project-specific quotes based on an in-home or on-site visit, where we measure the area and discuss the type of flooring you want, such as carpet, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, ceramic tile, or area rugs. Pricing is influenced by the size of the space, the flooring material you choose, any needed repairs or carpet re-stretching, and the complexity of trim and transitions. For existing hardwood floors, sand-and-finish work is quoted separately based on condition and square footage. This approach helps us give you a clear, tailored price before any work begins.
Are you licensed and insured, and how can I feel confident about your reputation as a flooring contractor?
FloorMax operates as a professional flooring and carpet contractor serving homeowners and businesses in and around Silver Spring, MD. As a full-service flooring company, we maintain the proper qualifications to install a range of products, including carpet, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, ceramic tile, and area rugs. Our experience with both residential and commercial projects helps ensure installations are done to industry standards. Homeowners can also review our past project photos and feedback to understand the quality of our work.
Can FloorMax handle both new carpet installation and repairs like carpet re-stretching in my home?
We install new carpet in living rooms, bedrooms, basements, and other spaces, as well as provide repair services when a full replacement is not needed. Our team can perform carpet re-stretching to address wrinkles or loose areas, which can improve appearance and safety. We also work with existing flooring to handle issues such as transitions, trim, and small repairs where possible. During a visit, we assess whether repair, re-stretching, or complete replacement is the better option for your space.
How do you schedule flooring projects, and what should I expect on installation day?
FloorMax schedules installations for a specific day and arrival window so you know when to expect our crew. We plan the work based on the size of the job, whether it is carpet, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, ceramic tile, or a mix of materials. On installation day, our team arrives prepared to remove existing flooring if needed, install the new materials, and handle details like trim and transitions. We aim to complete the work efficiently so you can get back to using the space as soon as possible.
What cleanup can I expect after FloorMax installs new carpet or other flooring in my home?
We remove the old flooring we are replacing when that service is included in your project, and we keep debris from carpet, padding, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, or tile contained during the job. At the end of the installation, our crew picks up leftover materials, trims, and packaging, and leaves the new flooring surface ready to walk on. For sand-and-finish hardwood projects, we work to manage dust and clean up the work area once the finishing steps are complete. You can expect the room to be in usable condition without construction mess left behind.
Why should I use your professional flooring installers instead of doing carpet or hardwood work myself?
Our team works with carpet, ceramic tile, hardwood, laminate, and vinyl every day, so we understand how each material should be measured, cut, and installed for a long-lasting result. Professional installation helps avoid problems like visible seams, loose carpet that needs early re-stretching, or uneven hardwood and tile surfaces. When we sand and finish existing hardwood floors, we use proper equipment and techniques that are difficult to match with typical DIY tools. Using a flooring contractor also saves you time and reduces the risk of damaging subfloors, trim, or the new materials you've invested in.
