2 years agoWe chose Carousel Carpets and Floors because the sellers of the home we bought used them. It was sight unseen, however, from multiple family and friends, the first floor carpets looked new and wanted to match the upstairs. We spoke to Bob and felt immediately comfortable. We were having work done to our home before moving in all while living in Florida. Bob went to our house same day. He took measurements and helped us choose an affordable carpet that looked/felt nice. He even had samples mailed to us as our local carpet companies didn't have them in-stock. Bob recommended we have our small dining room hard-wood floors refinished as we didn't realize the shape they were in. I was leery due to cost but the total for carpet (removal and install) and refinishing was better than the carpet alone from two other companies. At one point, I found out via photos from our HVAC service, that our front room has hardwood floors. I called Carousel immediately because I'd prefer to have them refinished. Bob had left on vacation and Norman helped me. He went straight to our home to view the condition, which I was extremely grateful for. My armpits were sweating with excitement. Unfortunately, I did not get better photos from him and he said they were in terrible shape and to just keep the carpet that was being installed anyway. I had to trust him, although I wanted Bob's second opinion (but vacation). Six months later and the flooring still looks great. No complaints. We did learn our lesson that if you need stairs carpeted a certain to tell them you want them - Hollywood vs Waterfall (terms we learned after moving in). I thought it was an automatic 'duh' for Hollywood, but was installed as Waterfall. That's the only part I don't like about the install. And, I'm sorry, Norman wasn't as friendly to me as Bob. Lastly, Bob even came over to our home after we moved in to address questions we had about our home in general. He came within a day or two (I can't remember), and helped us. He sent Phil over as well. He is a pretty cool guy, and enjoyed his willingness to fix our old home's floor. Thank you! -

FAQ
How does Carousel Carpets & Floors estimate the cost of new carpet or flooring for my home?
We base pricing on the type of carpet or flooring you choose, the square footage to be covered, and how much preparation and removal of old flooring is needed. We also consider any repairs or special details, such as stairs or transitions between rooms. We walk you through material options at different price points so you understand how each choice affects the total cost. We are happy to provide a custom quote after we measure your space and discuss your project goals.
Are you licensed and insured for carpet and flooring installation work?
Carousel Carpets & Floors operates as a professional carpet contractor, flooring contractor, and tile installer in Bowie, Maryland, and work is performed by trained installers. We maintain appropriate business coverage for the type of installation and replacement work we do in homes and businesses. We focus on careful in-home service, including removing old flooring and completing the new installation with respect for your property. If you have specific questions about licensing or insurance details, we review those with you during the planning stage so you are comfortable before any work begins.
Does Carousel Carpets & Floors handle both installation and repairs for carpet and other flooring?
We help with a full range of carpet and flooring needs, including new installation, replacement of worn flooring, and many types of repairs. We work with carpet, other flooring materials, and tile, so you can address multiple areas of your home or business with one team. We guide you through material selection, then handle removal of old flooring and detailed installation of the new products. For repairs, we assess the condition of the existing floor and explain whether a repair or full replacement will give you better long-term results.
How do you schedule carpet and flooring projects, and how long does a typical job take?
Carousel Carpets & Floors schedules projects after we have measured your space, helped you choose materials, and reviewed the scope of work with you. The timeline depends on the size of the area, the flooring type, and whether we are doing installation only or also handling significant removal or repairs. We set clear expectations about when our installers will arrive and how many days the work should take before the project starts. During the job, we keep you informed about progress so you can plan around any disruption in your home or business.
What can I expect from Carousel Carpets & Floors in terms of cleanup and how my home is left after installation?
We remove the old flooring we are replacing and keep work areas as tidy as possible while the project is underway. At the end of the job, we clean up installation debris and make sure surfaces in the work area are free of leftover materials. Our installers are expected to treat your home with respect, including being careful around walls, doors, and belongings while they work. We walk through the finished areas with you so you can see the completed carpet or flooring and confirm that the space has been left in good condition.
Why should I use your professional installers instead of trying to install carpet or flooring myself?
We handle the full process, from helping you select appropriate carpet, flooring, or tile to carefully removing old materials and installing the new ones correctly. Proper installation affects how long your flooring lasts, how it looks at seams and edges, and how safe it is underfoot. Our team is used to working in lived-in homes and businesses, so we know how to manage dust, move through tight spaces, and protect your property while we work. By using experienced installers, you reduce the risk of issues like uneven surfaces, poorly fitted seams, or damage to surrounding finishes that can be difficult and costly to fix with DIY attempts.
