4 weeks agoWritting on behalf of 84 year old father who is getting ripped off by this company BUYER BEWARE!(even though Maryland is dislamer or disclosure state and not an AS-IS state)when when purchasing carpet from this company. Repeat customer purchased carpet June of 2023, paid over $2500, instructed to remove small items from the rooms, empty the dresser drawers and was told beds and large furniture will be moved out of the rooms by the workers prior to install. The group of workers work did the workers didn't remove the large furniture but slide them from side to side during installation didn't speak English so there was a communication issue. The carpet was not good quality and started getting matted down not long after installation. In the fall of 2025 the carpet started buckling/wrinkling in the primary bedroom, secondary bedroom and hallway. The other 2 rooms were ok since no one used them. Reached out to the company to give them the opportunity to correct the issue. Sent a few photos and the Manager Jeromy Harty immediately dismissed the issue and said it's not improper installation. After I questioned how it was determined and what would cause the issue he decided to visit the property in person with the original sales person. Jeromys Harty didn't want to take accountability for the company workers not removing all the furniture out of the room prior to stretching. Instead he says it's because it's been walked on! Apparently carpet is not meant to be walked on! Later that day email was sent to us that if we pay for all the furniture out of the primary bedroom they will fix it for no cost. In the 1st place if the furniture was removed on the original install why do we have to pay again for something that wasn't done correctly? Upstairs hallway and my mother's room they want $150 to re stretch since there are too many seams. Should have used one continues roll instead of doing multiple seams. When I asked why we should pay more $ for furniture to be moved if in the 1st installation they never completely removed the beds and large items, Jeromy decided to sent a rambling 5-6 paragraph email. He accused my 84 yr old dad of dragging his feet and using a walker. He only used his walker in 2022 after surgery for 10 days. Carpet was installed in 2023. He also states since my dad doesn't go upstairs the the upstairs is wrinkle free. Yet on his email he states the upstairs can be fixed for $150. So if there's nothing wrong with upstairs what exactly are you charging for? Upstairs is also has wrinkling btw. Jeromy contradicted himself. We responded his rambling email with our long response and gave them the option to fix it or give a credit in lieu of repairs so that we seek a more professional contractor to fix the mess they made it was radio silence on their end. Now we are forced to file a complaint with MHIC and if needed proceed to smalls claims court since the work wasn't done properly and the carpet is C minus and Maryland does have an implied warranty of merchantability on carpet per the attorneys advise. Not to mention that I have contacted other licensed contractors that did agree that this was workmanship related and pointed out thats its all wrinkling in one direction front to back and not left to right. It's walked on in ALL directions! Attached below are the responses from Jeromy Harty and the photos of the wrinkles in the carpet. Any consumers that are considering using this company may want to consider going with a company who has more pride in their workmanship, hire skilled workers and will stand by their work. Not to mention even tho they operate under Flooring Partners now and used to be 24 hour floors but the MHIC license is under Carpet & Wood Floor Liquidators very shady. -

FAQ
Does Carpet & Wood Floor Liquidators charge for estimates?
We provide free estimates for all residential and commercial projects. When you contact us, our team will visit your space, take measurements, bring samples, and provide you with a detailed written quote that breaks down all costs including labor, materials, and any additional charges. This allows you to budget effectively and understand exactly what to expect before work begins.
Are you licensed and insured?
Carpet & Wood Floor Liquidators maintains proper licensing and insurance to protect you and your home throughout the installation process. We carry liability coverage in case of accidents or damage during the project, and we recommend always verifying proof of both license and insurance before hiring any flooring contractor. This protects your investment and ensures you won't be held financially responsible if something goes wrong.
What types of flooring does Carpet & Wood Floor Liquidators install?
We specialize in both carpet and hardwood flooring installation for residential and commercial spaces. Our team has over three decades of experience working with various flooring materials and understands the unique preparation, cutting, and finishing techniques required for each type. Whether you're installing new carpet in a home office or hardwood in a commercial space, our experienced installers are equipped to handle your specific flooring needs.
How long will my installation take, and what should I expect during the project?
Carpet & Wood Floor Liquidators will provide you with a clear timeline during your estimate, including start and completion dates. The duration depends on the size of your space and the type of flooring being installed. During the project, we'll communicate with you about any potential delays such as delivery times or subfloor issues, and we can discuss furniture moving arrangements on a per-job basis to help you plan accordingly.
What warranty does Carpet & Wood Floor Liquidators offer on installation?
We stand behind our work with a workmanship guarantee that covers our installation quality. In addition to our guarantee, you'll receive the manufacturer's warranty on the flooring product itself, which varies depending on which carpet or hardwood you select. During your estimate, our team can explain both warranties in detail so you understand what's covered and how to maintain your coverage.
What happens to my old flooring and debris after installation?
We handle cleanup and disposal of old carpet and flooring materials as part of our service. Our team will leave your space clean and ready for use once installation is complete. If you have questions about furniture moving or specific cleanup needs, we can discuss those details during the quote stage so there are no surprises about what's included in your final cost.
