9 months agoI'm always skeptical about the companies my warranty provider sends-especially after some past bad experiences. But as soon as I opened the door, I could tell ECA Heating & Cooling was going to be different. The technician was upfront and honest about what truly needed to be addressed and what could wait. Unfortunately, mold was discovered, so the issue turned out to be more serious than I originally thought so my issues werent able to be resolved. Even so he remained calm and informative. What stood out most was how thoughtful he was after noticing I had a child in the home. He clearly explained a possible plan of action to prioritize our health over just comfort -something I truly appreciated. Without mansplaining at that!!! If you're looking for honesty, professionalism, and someone who genuinely cares, I highly recommend ECA Heating & Cooling -

1 year agoGreat work from ECA and Idris. Used them for our boiler/radiators that went out in the middle of winter, no problem since Idris fixed it. Used them again fro a fresh install of a dual zone HVAC system. -

1 year agoECA Heating and Cooling of Baltimore does terrible work. The technician, Idris is very unprofessional and the company doesn't stand behind their work. I encourage anyone needed services from this company that you do not contract them to do any work for you. -

1 year agoAs a customer with a Choice Home Warranty, I really appreciate the service I received from ECA Heating & Cooling of Baltimore. My service provider, Mr. Allen took time out of his busy schedule to explain every issue I was having with my system. For the first time I finally felt comfortable with a HVAC company. I definitely recommend ECA Heating & Cooling of Baltimore to any and everyone who is in search of a HVAC company that stands behind their work. Respectfully, C.A.M. Dortch

FAQ
How does ECA DuctWorks determine pricing for HVAC work, and do you offer free estimates?
We provide detailed written estimates that break down equipment costs, labor, materials, permits, and any additional services before work begins. This transparent approach prevents hidden charges and helps you understand exactly what you're paying for. A quality estimate should include equipment model numbers, accessories like thermostats, and clarification on what's not included, such as electrical upgrades or duct modifications. We're happy to discuss financing options if needed to make your project more manageable.
Are you licensed, insured, and certified to handle HVAC work?
ECA DuctWorks maintains the proper licensing, bonding, and insurance coverage required to perform HVAC installation and repair work in Baltimore. Our technicians carry EPA 608 certification, which is required nationwide for anyone handling refrigerant. We can provide proof of insurance and are familiar with local permitting requirements and inspections. This protects you from liability and ensures your system is installed to code.
Does ECA DuctWorks handle emergency repairs, boiler work, and complete system replacements?
Yes, we specialize in emergency HVAC situations, including boiler and radiator failures, and we handle everything from repairs to complete system replacements. Our team responds to heating and cooling emergencies to restore your comfort quickly. Whether you need a quick fix or a full dual-zone HVAC installation, we have the expertise to get the job done right.
What should I expect during the installation process and timeline?
ECA DuctWorks will communicate clear timelines from deposit to completion, including permitting if needed. We protect your home during work by using drop cloths and maintaining a clean job site, with thorough cleanup afterward. Our certified technicians will walk you through system operation, maintenance requirements, and warranty registration once installation is complete. You'll also receive performance verification at the end to ensure everything is working properly.
How does ECA DuctWorks ensure proper equipment sizing and system performance?
We conduct a thorough whole-home evaluation and perform a Manual J load calculation before recommending equipment. This assessment considers your home's square footage, insulation levels, window types, ductwork condition, local climate, and other factors to size equipment correctly. We also evaluate your ductwork, airflow, and static pressure to identify any issues that could affect performance. Proper sizing and installation prevent efficiency problems and help your system last longer.
Why is professional HVAC installation better than attempting DIY work?
Professional installation ensures your system operates at peak efficiency and lasts as long as the manufacturer intended. Improper installation can decrease efficiency, shorten equipment life, and create safety hazards with refrigerant handling and electrical connections. We verify correct refrigerant charge, properly size and insulate line sets, install condensate safety switches to code, and test system performance after completion. These details require specialized training and tools that DIY work cannot replicate.
