4 weeks agoWe had an excellent experience with Common Ground Electrical, especially with Stuart, Gina, and the entire team. From the very beginning, they were extremely professional, responsive, and honest. What we appreciated the most is that they never tried to scare us or push unnecessary work. Instead, they took the time to clearly explain what they saw in the house, what truly needed to be addressed for safety and code compliance, and what was optional. Their communication was outstanding-fast, clear, and patient with all our questions. They provided real solutions, fair pricing, and a clear plan, which gave us a lot of peace of mind as new homeowners. If you're looking for an electrical company that is trustworthy, knowledgeable, and solution-oriented, not sales-driven, we highly recommend Common Ground Electrical. You can tell they genuinely care about doing things the right way. Thank you again to Stuart, Gina, and the whole team for such a great experience. 100% recommended. Liberty &Daveed. -

4 weeks agoThey do great work and are always honest and upfront, which I really appreciate. I love supporting a local small business I can actually trust. I've used them for both residential and commercial jobs, and they've been solid every time. They recently installed patio heaters for us and did an awesome job. Super reliable and a pleasure to work with. -

2 months agoI ended up not using them for any electrical work but they still get 5 stars anyways! I was worried about some electrical problems in my house but once they came out they told me that it was fine and also pointed out some smaller problems in my house that I could fix myself! Thier integrity alone should be enought for someone to hire them for thier projects -

2 months agoExtremely pleased with Stuart at Common Ground Electrical! He fit us in to look at an issue we had the first time I called and it was easy to schedule a follow up to give us estimates on a punch list of projects. He is honest and not looking to shake anyone down for more money. Going through our list of potential projects, he gave us prices if we chose to complete, but also told us if making these changes just weren't worth it or even necessary. Found our electrician we can trust!!

FAQ
Does Common Ground Electrical offer free estimates, and how do you determine pricing for electrical work?
We provide written estimates based on the specific details of your project, whether it is a simple light fixture installation or a complex wiring or panel upgrade. Pricing is determined by the scope of work, materials needed, and the time required to complete the job safely and to code. We walk you through the estimate so you understand what each part covers before any work begins. Our goal is to be clear and accurate up front so there are no surprises once the job is underway.
Are you licensed and insured, and how can I feel confident about your reputation as electricians?
Common Ground Electrical operates as a professional electrical contractor serving both homes and businesses in Baltimore, MD. We approach every project with the same professional standards, from small outlet changes to full wiring projects and panel work. Our team focuses on clear communication, showing up when we say we will, and completing work correctly the first time. That consistent approach has allowed us to build strong, ongoing relationships with many local homeowners and business owners.
What kind of electrical jobs can Common Ground Electrical handle, from small fixes to larger projects?
We handle a wide range of residential and commercial electrical services, from installing or moving outlets and light fixtures to more complex wiring projects. Our work includes tasks like adding new circuits for appliances, upgrading electrical panels, and installing modern equipment such as smart panels. We also work on outdoor and exterior electrical components, including meter locations, disconnects, and underground conduit connections. Whether you need a quick repair or a more involved electrical upgrade, we can assess the situation and recommend a safe, code-compliant solution.
How do you schedule electrical work, and what should I expect for arrival windows and timelines?
Common Ground Electrical schedules projects with clear communication about when we will arrive and how long the work is expected to take. For most jobs, we provide an arrival window and keep you updated if anything changes. Before starting, we review the scope so you know which areas of your home or business will be affected and if any power needs to be shut off temporarily. We aim to complete work efficiently while taking the time needed to test everything and ensure your electrical system is functioning properly before we leave.
How does Common Ground Electrical handle cleanup and the condition of my home after the work is done?
We treat your home or business with care and work to keep the job area as tidy as possible. During electrical work, we organize tools and materials to reduce disruption and protect surrounding surfaces where we can. At the end of the job, we pick up debris, remove packaging, and gather any scrap electrical materials created during the work. We also make sure the areas we worked in are safe, with covers and panels secured and all fixtures and devices properly installed and tested.
Why should I hire your electricians instead of trying to do electrical work myself?
We work with live electrical systems every day, so we understand how to perform installations, wiring changes, and panel work safely and in line with electrical codes. DIY electrical work can create hidden problems, such as loose connections or overloaded circuits, that may not show up right away but can lead to shocks, tripped breakers, or fire risks later. Our process includes properly shutting down and testing circuits, using the right materials, and verifying that everything is grounded and protected as it should be. By having us handle the job, you get the benefit of professional training and experience, along with the peace of mind that the work was done correctly the first time.
