6 months agoDO NOT USE THIS COMPANY *they will extort you for every penny they can *staff is rude and unprofessional *price is outrageous and much much more... had a accident and they picked up my vehicle and put it in holding About a week later I tried to get it out but they made excuses to prolong the stay in holding and after another 4 or 5 days i get all the nessisary paperwork and I go there with a trailer...I called 5 timed no answer then once I pull into the lot they answer with the worst attitude ive ever heard , straight disrespectful and the lady was outrageously un professional Then chirs a male employee was running his mouth talking trash in the background then gets on the phone talking down to me when I have the $1300 to pay them but they would not accept it and found some bs reason to make it to where I cant get my stuff till Monday adding another 100 to my cost...its cheaper and less hassle to just push you're totaled/damaged vehicle home 0/10 stars , AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST -

10 months agoCalled last night for a tow. The driver was great..BUT when my wife called to set it up she specifically told the dispatcher there was 4 passengers well this info was not relayed to the driver who showed up in a tow truck not big enough for all passengers. We then had to Uber a ride home!

FAQ
How does Rick's Towing and Recovery determine towing prices?
Pricing depends on factors like vehicle type, distance towed, and job complexity such as light-duty or heavy-duty recovery. We provide quotes upfront based on these details to give you a clear expectation before service begins. This approach helps avoid surprises, as seen in cases where our quote of $120 was much lower than a competitor's $700 for towing a 1978 Ford Bronco.
Are you licensed and insured for towing services?
Rick's Towing and Recovery carries full licensing and insurance to handle towing and recovery operations across the South. Our experienced operators use this coverage to protect your vehicle during transport, whether it's a standard tow or a complex recovery from a ditch. Homeowners can verify these credentials by checking with local authorities or our business records at the W Pinhook Road location.
Does Rick's Towing and Recovery handle heavy-duty recoveries like construction equipment or overturned vehicles?
We manage a full range of towing from light-duty vehicles like pickup trucks and classic Broncos to heavy-duty jobs involving tracked construction vehicles and large excavators. Our crews are equipped for recoveries such as uprighting overturned cars from ditches, using specialized heavy-duty trucks. This capability covers everything from local Lafayette tows to jobs throughout the South.
What is the typical arrival time for your 24/7 towing service?
Our 24/7 crews respond quickly to emergencies, prioritizing rapid dispatch from our Lafayette base on W Pinhook Road. Expect arrival within the local response window, depending on traffic and job location, with operators ready for immediate action. We operate around the clock, including nights and weekends, to minimize your wait during tough situations.
What does Rick's Towing and Recovery do with debris or wreckage after a recovery?
We clear the primary vehicle and any attached debris from the scene to restore safe access to the road or area. For impound situations after accidents, vehicles are stored securely until you can retrieve them, with staff available to assist. This process ensures the site is left as clean as feasible without additional cleanup services beyond towing scope.
Why is professional towing safer than trying a DIY recovery?
Professional operators use heavy-duty equipment designed for safe handling of vehicles in ditches, mud, or overturned positions, avoiding further damage or injury risks. DIY attempts often lack the winches, flatbeds, and rigging needed for stability, especially with heavy loads like excavators or Broncos. Our 40 years of experience ensures controlled recoveries that get your vehicle moving without compromising safety.
