7 years agoIf First American attempts to assign this company to you, immediately ask for another contractor. Had a leaking water heater, scheduled to meet contractor between 9-11 am. The person I eventually talked to at Billy's assured me their guy would be there first thing in the morning after I told them that our schedule was tight. At 11:30, called warranty company, let them know that Billy's was a no show and that no one had called or texted. Called Billy's published number (it's the number where customer callers go to die, no one ever picks up) let them know as well. I then ask, where is the guy right now and what is his number - "He's in Los Angeles and we don't give out phone numbers". Freaking classic. I ask for a little more clarity, as in, where is the guy and what how far away is he? "I don't know, he hasn't called in". Great, just call me when he is near, or leaves from wherever he is. Next thing, at 1:30, a full 2.5 hours outside of the time window, I get a call from a No Caller ID phone and it is from the contractor. He is at my front door. I tell him to give me 5-10 minutes to get there. He says, "I can give you five minutes, beginning now". *? As we speak, I get another beep in from a No Caller ID line and it is Billy's home office. She says contractor has been there 15 minutes. "Funny, I am on the other line with him and he got there one minute ago." She argues, "No, I have timed this and he has been there 15 minutes and he has to go". "So are you telling me that you can show up 2.5 hours late and then give me 5 minutes to meet you?" "Sir, we are going to call warranty company (and lie) and ask for another company to meet with you." The notion that these guys have any intention of honoring an appointment commitment is a joke. And they have no intention of letting you get in touch with them. Horrible company. Run from them -

10 years ago$6,000 They put in several toilet bowls inside my house and one of them was a small size for a small size bathroom it tie the space so he thought for it to be smaller one closer to the wall or something to allow the door to open and close so it was a replacement that my old one goes down new one comes in and he put in a small one that fitted the space requirement but the toilet bowl flushed, but where the water wheeze of the bottom of the hole was too small and so the water can not go through, little bit of water can go through not a lot of water and a little bit a toilet paper can cause plugging and the problem is I did not use that, it's a spare bathroom it's not one that we use all the time after about a year later I was out of town I was busy trying to do something so I wasn't home and we have three bathrooms all together and when I was out of town there was only two people cleaning the house so that bathroom was not being used for quiet some time until I finally came home and I tried to use the toilet and I found out the water would not flushed and it was overflowing of water and I finally call this guy and said hey so and so I got a problem I know that it's more than one year now and we have a problem can we find a solution what I mean is I am willing to pay a little extra again but you need to find me another toilet bowl that will flush and he never return my call and one day I dropped into their office and I talked to his manager and he still not respond. -

11 years agoYes, I recommend this pro $15,000 They did a lot of plumbing and have just been amazing. They're very professional and also stuck to the estimate they gave us in the beginning. Even though we added some new things and there was more work than when we started, they stuck to their estimate. -

12 years agoThis place is a complete scam. I requested drain clean-out for the sink in the bathroom - working via American Home Buyer's warranty. Contractor Connection sent the technician who looked the problem. He concluded that he couldn't do anything because he couldn't open the clean-out cap, and said he would check with my warranty company, because if he broke it, it would not be covered by the warranty. This is where the ride began Unsurprisingly, CC concluded that they my insurance doesn't cover it. Not only that, my bathroom stood dismantled for a week without anyone giving me a call to actually tell me that. I called myself last Fri. After arguing for half an hour on the phone and offering to pay for a broken cap myself (if they indeed broke it), they backpedaled and said they didn't want to take the responsibility even if I wanted to pay for it. I couldn't deal with these people and asked to come at least put my bathroom back together. After half an hour of more arguing that they don't have manpower for that, they finally agreed to send someone. They didn't show up. I arrived back home, bought the tool and unscrewed the cap myself. Called them back and they agreed to come out and finish the job between 8-11am. I call them the day of the appointment and they tell me it is actually 9-12. I eat that again. But guess what: noone shows up until 12:30. And when I call, I get referred immediately to the manager lady who is extremely disrespectful. When I describe to her the situation - that no-one has called me, or the tech is late, or that my bathroom is dismantled - and ask for a resolution, all I hear in response is "It is what it is". "I dont' have the manpower - what do you want me to do about it?" "They are wrapping up the last job - what do you want me to do about it?" "I guarantee you we won't be having you as a customer again". I hope they go out of business for this sort of respect for their customers. -

13 years agoI called the company in the morning to ask them to give me a call when they were on the way. My appointment time was between 12-3. I got a phone call at 11:25 from the company saying where was I the repair man was at my house and would leave if I was not home in a few minutes. Luckily my sister was down the street and was able to go to my house. When I got home I discovered they had replaced my nice toilet with a very cheap one and left a ring of caulking and dirt all around on the floor because they toilet they gave me had such a small base compared to the toilet I had. The repair man said it needed "elbow grease" to get the dirt out but unfortunately on a stone floor this is not the case. I am now left with a toilet that is ridiculously too small and looks horrible. The customer service at the contractor connection said they did what the warranty company told them to so they were off the hook and didnt care if I was unhappy. Nice! :(

FAQ
Does Contractor Connection offer free estimates for handyman services?
We provide detailed, itemized estimates based on the scope of work, including labor and materials for tasks like minor electrical repairs or plumbing fixes. Pricing depends on the job's complexity, such as carpentry or drywall patching, and we stick to the initial quote even if minor changes occur. Homeowners can contact us directly to discuss their project and receive a custom quote tailored to their needs.
Are you licensed, bonded, and insured for handyman work?
Contractor Connection carries the necessary licensing, bonding, and insurance to handle handyman services safely in the Louisville area. Our coverage protects both our team and your property during jobs like smart home installations or toilet repairs. We focus on professional standards to ensure every project meets local requirements.
What specific handyman tasks does Contractor Connection handle?
We manage a range of home repairs including minor electrical and plumbing fixes, carpentry, drywall patching, and smart home installations from our base on Lurline Avenue. Our skills cover everything from leaking water heater assessments to custom toilet placements in small bathrooms. We assess each job to confirm it fits our expertise before proceeding.
What should I expect for arrival times and scheduling with you?
We schedule appointments within specific windows, such as 9-11 am or 12-3 pm, and call ahead when en route to coordinate your availability. Clear communication helps avoid delays, so providing your preferred time slots upfront allows us to plan efficiently. Our team aims to meet these windows while handling Louisville-area jobs promptly.
Does Contractor Connection clean up after handyman jobs and handle debris?
We leave your home clean and tidy after completing repairs, removing all debris from tasks like plumbing or drywall work. Our process includes protecting surfaces during the job and ensuring no mess remains once we're done. This approach minimizes disruption and respects your living space throughout the service.
Why is hiring you safer and better than doing handyman repairs myself?
Our professional approach uses proper tools and techniques for electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks, reducing risks like water damage from improper water heater fixes or structural issues from poor installations. DIY often leads to costly mistakes, such as mismatched fixtures that waste space or fail prematurely, while we deliver lasting results with accurate assessments. Homeowners save time and avoid hazards by entrusting complex repairs to experienced hands.
