2 months agoBy far 1 of the worse company's I've dealt with they started out fine and went down hill fast after our house fire the insurance hired them .. they came in took all our belongings.. then did a very poor job of cleaning the walls etc . The inventory list of our belongings doesn't match there or our pictures.half the stuff never made it back they cant seem to update the list for the missing items even after several emails and texts...the stuff that did come back some was cleaned some wasn't,,company'sent my wife a email for a review and once it was posted( negative review) now its gone it's crazy to me that a company will take advantage of a bad situation,,,and then not even reach out to try to fix it ..your better off hiring anybody but this this particular location...i really hope the owner knows what is going on with his company -

2 months agoThey did nothing to remediation water damage after a fire leading to mold under the flooring, behind drywall, on furniture, etc. We were told mattresses and all electronics are considered non-salvagable. They did not dispose of the mattresses and returned 2 of the TV. However, none of these items were cataloged on inventory lists. They "lost" the washer and dryer" and again it was not cataloged as salvage or non-salvage. All of my husband's tools were loaded separately into a different vehicle and never returned. They cataloged them as "30+ sockets" when the picture they submitted clearly shows over 60 sockets. No brand names were listed when they is a substantial value difference between Snap-On and Craftsman. Reaching anyone has been practically impossible for us or our insurance adjuster. It's devastating to lose everything in a house fire and then to deal with Service Master has made it even worse. Talk about kicking someone when they are down. -

4 months agoOur water heater recently leaked damaging our laundry room as well as the dry wall ceiling of our garage below. ServiceMaster did a great job. I called three companies to come out and give quotes. ServiceMaster came out the quickest after being called. Not only did they get a quote to us within a couple of hours, but they were the ONLY company of the 3 that even bothered to get back to us with a quote. Every staff member we came in contact with were super friendly. They communicated well as far as when they would be coming, what with they would be doing, and when they would return for the next step. They came when they said they would, and the one time they were late, they let us know ahead of time that they would be. They worked efficiently and the end result is that you cannot tell we had any damage or repairs done. It's as if it never happened. I definitely recommend ServiceMaster.

FAQ
How does ServiceMaster Fire & Water Restoration Services determine pricing for water damage or fire restoration?
We assess the extent of the damage, including the source, affected areas, and materials involved, to provide a detailed quote. Factors like water extraction needs, drying time, and any required content removal influence the final cost. Homeowners sign an authorization form before work begins, and for insurance claims, we bill the provider directly after collecting any deductible.
Are you licensed and insured for fire damage and water restoration services?
ServiceMaster Fire & Water Restoration Services holds proper licensing and insurance for fire and water restoration work in Lexington. Our team follows industry standards to ensure safe handling of hazards like electrical issues and structural damage. You can verify our credentials through state licensing boards and insurance providers during the initial consultation.
Does ServiceMaster Fire & Water Restoration Services handle water extraction and drying in areas like kitchens and living rooms after a leak?
Our water damage specialists perform thorough inspections using moisture meters to identify hidden water in ceilings, walls, and floors. We use specialized equipment for extraction on hardwood floors and drywall, followed by drying to prevent mold growth. Technicians assess the damage with homeowners, explaining findings on-site for transparency.
What is the typical timeline for your restoration projects?
ServiceMaster Fire & Water Restoration Services evaluates the damage scope to estimate timelines, with water removal often starting the same day. Drying can take 3-5 days for minor cases, while severe fire or flood damage may extend to a week or more depending on material types and weather. We communicate progress updates and phase estimates throughout to set clear expectations.
How does ServiceMaster Fire & Water Restoration Services manage cleanup and debris after restoration?
We remove unsalvageable items like damaged drywall, flooring, and non-restorable contents such as certain mattresses or electronics during the process. Debris is safely disposed of, and we address safety hazards like slip risks and poor air quality before leaving. Your property is left secure and ready for any rebuild phase.
Why is your professional approach safer than attempting DIY water or fire damage cleanup?
Professional equipment detects moisture trapped below surfaces that DIY methods miss, preventing mold behind drywall or under floors. We identify fire-related risks like electrical hazards and separate damaged appliances for safe disposal, avoiding injuries from untrained handling. Our step-by-step process, including content evaluation and specialized drying, ensures complete restoration without ongoing damage.
