4 years agoTJ did a fantastic job bringing these 70 year old oak floors back to brand new condition. I had to replace 150sqft in the kitchen and a few other small patches throughout the house. He provided me the material and I did the install since I am a carpenter by trade. We chose a darker stain, and TJ did an amazing jog getting the new and old floor to blend together. It's nearly impossible to see the transition spots. Even the area around the old fireplace came out great. He has a eye for detail, and made sure the deep scratches and stains were attended to. I've been in the trades for over 15 years and I've seen my fair share of bad refinish jobs. You definitely need to hire a professional to get the job done right and TJ is that man. -

4 years agoWe recently had TJ work on our entire first floor. He refinished the floors in our kitchen, dining room and foyer, then installed new white oak in our living and family rooms. It all looks great! The old hardwood matches the new in color and finish. He even completed the work a day ahead of schedule. The pricing was very reasonable and his workmanship was excellent. He is friendly and easy going. We would recommend TJ to anyone. -

FAQ
How does WoodHaven Floor Refinishing determine pricing for floor refinishing projects?
We assess pricing based on the square footage, condition of existing floors, and any required patches or new installs like white oak replacements. Factors such as room size and kitchen patching needs influence the final quote. Homeowners receive a detailed breakdown after an on-site evaluation to ensure transparency.
Are you licensed and insured for flooring work?
WoodHaven Floor Refinishing carries full licensing and insurance to protect homeowners during projects. Our coverage handles any unexpected issues, allowing focus on the refinishing process. This setup meets local standards in Georgetown, KY for carpenter and handyman services.
Does WoodHaven Floor Refinishing handle kitchen floor patching and new white oak installs?
We sand down wear on aged oak floors, patch spots in kitchens, and install fresh white oak where needed for seamless full-room makeovers. Our handyman services cover these tasks directly in your space, blending old charm with new sections. Photos of refinished pine and light hardwood demonstrate our scope in living areas and dining rooms.
What is your typical timeline for a floor refinishing project?
We provide clear scheduling with arrival windows that match your availability, starting with sanding and patching on the first day. Full-room projects like kitchen refinishing and living room installs usually span a few days, depending on size. Expect updates throughout to keep the process on track.
What cleanup does WoodHaven Floor Refinishing provide after refinishing floors?
We remove all sanding dust, debris, and waste from your home, leaving floors and surrounding areas clean. Thorough vacuuming and wiping down of windowsills and walls ensure no residue remains. Check local regulations for proper debris disposal, which we follow completely.
Why is your professional floor refinishing approach safer than DIY?
Our method starts with inspecting and smoothing uneven subfloors before any new layers, avoiding noises or instability common in rushed DIY jobs. Professionals use proper equipment to sand to bare wood evenly, apply finishes correctly, and handle patches without damaging structures. DIY risks uneven results, finish failures from improper prep, and safety issues like dust exposure or tool damage.
