They were so wonderful to work with and so skilled, the craftsmanship and quality of their work is amazing, our chairs are better now than when we bought them 10 years ago, the material is beautiful and we love the results. The chairs were repaired quickly, at a very fair and reasonable price that included pick up and delivery. They go out of their way to provide great results and great customer service. 12 years agoWe have been looking for years to replace our 35 year old "perfect" deck furniture. But everything new was oversized and too conspicuous for the space. I discovered The Southern Company via a net search (their web site describes exactly what they do). Our old furniture was high quality but "very used" and weather worn. I called The Southern Company and spoke with John McCudden who knew by my description of our furniture, the name brand and the fact the manufacturer is no longer in business. He quoted prices over the phone and promised to send me samples of the vinyl strapping for me to select my preferred colors, which I received promptly. (The chairs were $185 each, The table base was $135, the wheeled rolling carts were $240 each). The Southern company is located just outside Philadelphia and provide service to all of New Jersey. We arranged for the Southern Company to pick-up our furniture at their next scheduled visit to our northern NJ area. They picked up our furniture within a week or so (we did not have a long wait.) I had our white furniture painted black and the vinyl strapping is also black with grey accent strips. We received the completed furniture today (9/25/2014) and it looked perfectly new and beautiful. The carts, likewise, are beautiful with the broken wheels replaced. The timing of pick-up to delivery was long and I expected it to be longer than normal because I was told that my request for a black, fiberglass table top (without center hole) would be a special order for them to obtain from the manufacturer. (They had white fiberglass tops readily available.) They still have not received the table top, and we agreed to the return of our furniture (which had been done long ago) and they will deliver the table and new top, when they receive the top. I enjoyed dealing with The Southern Company (spoke with several different folks there: John, Pat, Tom and Katie) and believe the company's caliber of work and customer service deserves Angie's List recognition. 12 years ago$60 Well done except the new straps did not match the color of the original. We were told that the original strap color was "out of stock"! Would have been nice to tell us this before. As it was for us quite a drive to get back to their shop if the work had to be redone, and as the color was "close", and as we didn't feel in the mood to debate the matter, we just paid and left . Four mis-matched straps on our summer furniture remind us of our visit. -

12 years agoSent me material to choose from. We spoke several times on the phone. Picked up chairs and gave estimate. Delivered the chairs back in a week and sent me a bill. They do not work with credit cards.
