6 years agoIn November 2019 we had TWO furnaces installed in our home by ARROWHEAD MECHANICAL of Northwood, Ohio. The owner being Mr. Jack Skaggs. When both were installed we Paid Mr. Skaggs in full. He promised to return and remove the old furnaces and clean up misc. debris. After no show of about 3-5 days we tried to call him about the mess he left. He would not take our calls! I was mystified because we had no friction to our knowledge. About June 1st we got some warm days so I turned on the air conditioner upstairs. (The furnace is located in the attic.) A short time later my wife discovered water dripping thru the ceiling. Called Mr. Skaggs who promised to stop by that eve. or next day. That was in 5/27/20. Again, no show! I called another HVAC co. They came and repaired the problem in about 1 hr. on 6/2/20. They said it was improper installation of furnace. The following are notes copied from their invoice: Notes: System is in attic Horizontal installation of furnace in attic Furnace was replaced last fall by another company Customer has water damage in ceiling of 2nd floor right below the exit of the evaporator coil When turned AC on for first time this spring the water spot appeared in ceiling Upon further investigation found evaporator coil not level and allowing water to collect in drain pan properly and not draining and spilling over Leveled evaporator with slight tilt toward the drain System will drain properly now Returned system to normal operation I am still left with some minor ceiling water damage, and an additional $95 bill I should not have had to pay. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ARROWHEAD MECHANICAL FOR ANY WORK. This experience has led me to believe their workmanship is poor, their word is no good, their warranty is not worth the paper it is written on, and the integrity of the owner is very questionable!

FAQ
Does Arrowhead Mechanical HVAC offer free estimates for central A/C installs or furnace repairs?
We provide detailed written estimates based on your home's specific needs, such as system size, ductwork condition, and any electrical requirements. These estimates cover labor, parts like Carrier or Lennox units, and timelines without upfront cost to you. This approach helps you understand the full scope before committing to HVAC services.
Are you licensed and insured for HVAC and electrical work?
Arrowhead Mechanical HVAC carries full licensing, bonding, and insurance as required for HVAC contractors and electricians handling central A/C, furnaces, and baseboard heaters. We also maintain EPA 608 certification for refrigerant work to meet national standards. Proof of these credentials is available upon request to ensure compliance with local codes in Woodville and Overland Park areas.
Does Arrowhead Mechanical HVAC handle installations of Carrier furnaces and rooftop units?
We install Carrier furnaces with ductwork and piping for residential and commercial properties, including horizontal and rooftop units. Our services extend to Lennox systems and outdoor A/C units, ensuring proper airflow and static pressure testing. This covers both central A/C and electrical heater fixes year-round.
What is your typical timeline for HVAC installations and how do you schedule 24-hour service?
We schedule services with clear arrival windows, offering 24-hour availability for urgent furnace or A/C repairs. Installations like dual furnaces typically complete within a few days from deposit, factoring in permitting if needed. Expect our team to coordinate directly with you for minimal disruption.
Does Arrowhead Mechanical HVAC clean up after furnace or A/C installations?
We use drop cloths and shoe covers during work to protect your home, then remove all debris like packaging and old unit parts. Post-installation, we test system performance and leave the site clean, including vacuuming work areas. This standard practice ensures your space is ready for immediate use.
Why is hiring you safer than attempting DIY HVAC repairs or installs?
Professional installation follows manufacturer specs for refrigerant charge, line set sizing, and electrical connections, preventing efficiency losses or safety hazards like gas leaks. We conduct load calculations and duct inspections that DIYers often skip, avoiding undersized systems or poor airflow. Our 24-hour team uses verified methods to extend equipment life beyond what homeowners can achieve alone.
