2 months agoTwo very polite service technicians, Colton and Joe, came out and installed a new hot water heater (and removed the old one) for me on Christmas Eve day. They were on time (8:00 am) and I really appreciated Joe taking the initiative to lay down tarps over my carpet to minimize boot tracks. Colton keep me updated and clearly explained the process as the day went on. It has been a couple of weeks now and my new tank is working perfectly. Summer and Alyssa were also very helpful and friendly when I went into the office to set up appointments and pay. Thank you all for your help. -

Wanted’s Garage
3 months agoEdit: Since this incident the owner decided to be petty and completely blackball this address from any future service call rather than amicably accept that he lost the service contract. In short, he's closed the door to any any reconciliation. His loss, not mine. Everything else below remains true. Any problems you may have with Cool Heat KC is not going to be with the work performed or with the technicians. The work they do is on point, done well and done with care. The techs are awesome and I highly recommend their work. Pricing, is fair. Nothing phenomenal, but nothing outrageous by any means. You definitely get what you pay for in their work without getting gouged. The problem with Cool Heat KC lies in their scheduling and service package. Avoid their Comfort Club package. It's not worth the headache. The intent is to prep your system for the upcoming season. Wish it worked out like that. I never got a call about my winter service until December to prep my heating system when I should have heard from them in October, and then when I did get a call from them about my summer prep to schedule it in March, they kept rescheduling it only later to inform me they needed it to be a certain temp to perform the service and giving me no real options of how to appropriately reschedule it to meet those requirements. They won't call you to get you on the schedule when the season is more favorable like in mid-April. Oh, and since you didn't know that, and are supposed to be mind readers, you're the jerk for not knowing that and making that appointment appropriately. If you do have a problem, let it be known you'll be wrong for reacting to lack of true options with dismay, you'll be wrong for not knowing what you weren't told on the front end, you'll be wrong for being told an option was presented that wasn't. Case in point, on my second reschedule, I was told I could not be guaranteed an appointment day because of the season for my AC prep, and offered no options or recommendations for trying to reschedule for a late afternoon. Active service members like myself, they may be veteran owned, but don't let that fool you. I'm deploying and wanted their service package for ease of mind while I'm gone to make life easier on my spouse. I can say unequivocally this is not the place that offers that package. Avoid it like the plague. However, if you are in the area and need good one-off services, if you can get past their scheduling issues you will get good quality work at an ok price. Just be advised that if a problem does arise with scheduling, you may have to intervene on your spouse's behalf regardless of where you are in the world. Also, don't expect the owner to actually listen to you rather than just lecture you and say his people offered you something they both didn't, but also said you had to talk to him for. Because of this, the owner and I have semi-amicably parted ways. If he wishes to change that, he's free to reach out to me but I'm not holding my breath.

FAQ
Does Cool y Caliente HVAC Services offer free estimates or how is pricing determined?
We provide competitive quotes based on the specific job, such as furnace repairs, hot water heater installs, or full HVAC replacements with heat pumps and gas furnaces. Our pricing reflects the work needed without cutting corners, often coming in lower than other bids. Homeowners can expect a clear breakdown to understand the value before any work begins.
Are you licensed and insured?
Cool y Caliente HVAC Services carries the necessary licensing and insurance to handle all HVAC work safely and professionally. This protects your home from liability during repairs, installations, or replacements. We meet local requirements for tasks like handling refrigerants in heat pumps and furnaces.
Does Cool y Caliente HVAC Services handle hot water heater installations and mini-split HVAC units?
We install hot water heaters, including removal of old units, along with full HVAC systems like heat pumps, gas furnaces, and mini-split units with indoor and outdoor components. Our photos show Mitsubishi Electric outdoor units, indoor mini-splits on walls, and furnace setups with ductwork. These services cover heating and cooling needs for homes in Bonner Springs and nearby areas like Olathe.
What should I expect for scheduling and arrival times?
Cool y Caliente HVAC Services offers same-day service for urgent issues and responds even on holidays or middle of the night for heating repairs. Technicians arrive on time, such as 8:00 am for scheduled installs, with easy scheduling through our team. Expect quick response to get your heating or cooling up and running without delay.
Does Cool y Caliente HVAC Services clean up after installations and handle old equipment removal?
We remove old hot water heaters, furnaces, and HVAC units during installs and leave your home clean. Technicians use protective measures and ensure the work area, like utility spaces with ductwork, is tidy after completing jobs. This includes proper disposal of waste from replacements like Bryant Evolution heat pumps or gas furnaces.
Why is it better to hire you instead of attempting a DIY HVAC repair or install?
Our professional approach ensures proper sizing, installation, and testing of systems like heat pumps and furnaces, avoiding common DIY errors that lead to inefficiency or breakdowns. We follow best practices for refrigerant handling, ductwork integration, and electrical connections, which require specialized tools and certifications. Hiring us saves time, prevents safety risks, and provides lasting performance compared to incomplete self-repairs.
