1 year agoThey came to our home in December 2023 to provide an estimate for electrical work that we needed done. They spent a few hours in our home and were very thorough. With the holidays coming up, we understood that even though they said they would get back to us with an estimate to complete work before the holidays that they may not. They didn't, and after we checked in after the new year Sarah apologized the family had been sick. She stated that they would give us the estimate that same week. We heard nothing and I sent another message mid January inquiring again with no response. I waited and tried again months later in April. She messaged back mid April saying "Ohhh my gosh Logan I can't even apologize enough and there is no plausible excuse! I would most definitely like the opportunity.... I have to gather my paperwork and see what numbers I had put together" I messaged back a few days later asking when we should expect to hear back. Last message I sent was five days later officially deciding to move on with another company. The only reason I stuck with them for so long was because they charged us $270 in December for the estimate that they ultimately never provided to us. In my last message, I asked that they reimburse us the $270 that they charged us for services that they did not provide. No response. Other reviews show that this is a theme. -

1 year agoI am beyond amazed at the quality of Sarah Belocks work ethic and attention to detail. She went above and beyond the initial problems we were dealing with and then fixed no-no's that other supposedly good electricians did to my house. I am overwhelmed with how much she cares. I will never call anyone but her and you shouldn't either!

FAQ
How does Affordable Electric of the Quad Cities determine pricing for electrical work?
We provide free estimates for all electrical work, which means you'll know the full cost before we begin any repairs or installations. During the estimate, our team spends time thoroughly inspecting your home to identify both obvious issues and hidden problems that others might miss. This detailed approach ensures our pricing reflects the actual scope of work needed, with no surprises when the bill arrives.
Are you licensed and insured?
Affordable Electric of the Quad Cities maintains proper licensing and insurance to protect both our team and your home. When you hire a licensed electrician, you're ensuring the work meets local electrical codes and safety standards. We also coordinate with your home insurance when applicable, which can help offset costs for covered repairs.
Does Affordable Electric of the Quad Cities handle panel upgrades and surge protection installation?
Yes, we handle a full range of electrical services including electrical panel work and surge protection device installation. Our team has experience diagnosing panel issues, upgrading outdated systems, and installing surge protection to safeguard your home's electrical equipment. Whether you need a panel inspection, repair, or complete upgrade, we assess your specific needs and provide solutions tailored to your home.
How quickly can you schedule an appointment, and what should I expect on the day of service?
Affordable Electric of the Quad Cities works to accommodate your schedule and get to your home in the Quad Cities promptly. When you call for service, we'll discuss your electrical issue and find a time that works for you. Our team arrives prepared with the tools and knowledge to diagnose problems efficiently, whether it's a quick fix or a more involved repair or installation.
What happens to debris and how do you leave my home after completing electrical work?
We take pride in leaving your home clean and organized after every job. Our team removes electrical waste and debris from the work area, ensuring your space is left in good condition. Whether we're installing new fixtures, upgrading panels, or repairing outlets, we respect your home and clean up thoroughly before we leave.
Why should I hire a professional electrician instead of attempting electrical work myself?
Electrical work involves serious safety risks that go beyond typical DIY projects. Incorrect wiring, improper connections, or code violations can create fire hazards, electrical shocks, and damage to your home's systems. A licensed electrician has the training to diagnose hidden problems, ensure all work meets safety codes, and handle complex issues like panel upgrades or surge protection installation that require specialized expertise and equipment.
