3 months agoWe notified Electric Today when trying to sell our home and the buyers requested a certified electrician to look at specific electrical details. Electric Today was stellar from the initial phone call to get an estimate to the completion of the project. Everyone we spoke with or had direct contact with was courteous, professional, friendly, and efficient. Kyle was the electrician that came out for the estimate and we were able to also schedule for him to complete the work. He was personable, easy to work with, detailed oriented, prompt, able to relay all information concisely and effectively, able to answer all of our questions, and skilled with his work. The turnaround time for the entire process was great. We would HIGHLY recommend both Electric Today and the electrician, Kyle! -

4 months agoThey rewired. My whole house, but some of the wire in the wall, they did not change. And I'm just now finding that out. So I called and talked to Emily, and she was kind of rude about it. She said, if I have some work done, they would fix it for free. But it's their fault because they didn't chase all the wires like they were supposed to, and then she could accuse me of not having my house totally rewired. Well, I have the paperwork to show that it was totally rewired, so I would not recommend this company to nobody because they would not come back and fix their mistakes without charging people. That's not how you do business. -

FAQ
Does Electric Today offer free estimates, and how do you determine pricing for electrical work?
We provide custom quotes based on the specific electrical work needed rather than flat, one-size-fits-all pricing. For most projects, we discuss the issue with you, review any photos or plans you have, and then recommend an on-site visit if the job is more complex. Pricing takes into account the type of service (such as EV charger installation, generator installation, or panel work), materials required, and the time and labor involved. When possible, we explain the options and expected costs up front so you understand what you are paying for before work begins.
Are you licensed and insured to perform electrical work in my home or business?
Electric Today operates as a professional electrical service company, and our work is performed by trained electricians. We follow local codes and industry standards for electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance in Indianapolis. Our team is qualified to work on residential and commercial systems, including panels, wiring, lighting, EV chargers, and standby generators. Before any job starts, you can ask us about licensing and insurance details so you have full confidence in who is working on your property.
Can Electric Today handle EV charger and standby generator installations as well as general electrical repairs?
We install, maintain, and repair a wide range of electrical systems for both homes and businesses. Our services include EV charger installation, generator installation, and general electrician work such as panels, wiring, and lighting. The photos of our projects show examples of residential and commercial Generac standby generators, electrical panels, and conduit installations. Whether you need a new EV charger, backup power for your home or building, or troubleshooting for wiring and power issues, we can assess the situation and perform the necessary electrical work.
How do you schedule jobs, and what should I expect for arrival windows or project timelines?
Electric Today schedules electrical work based on the type and urgency of the service you need. For troubleshooting power issues or problems like failed breakers, we aim to respond promptly and explain when you can expect a technician to arrive. For larger projects such as new generator installations, panel work, or rough-in wiring during construction, we discuss the scope first and then outline a realistic timeline for each phase. We also let you know if work may require multiple visits so you can plan around our arrival and installation times.
When Electric Today finishes a job, how do you handle cleanup and any materials or debris?
We treat your home or business as an active living and working space, so our goal is to leave the area orderly when electrical work is complete. During panel upgrades, generator installations, or rough-in wiring, we collect packaging, scrap wire, and other materials generated by our work. Our electricians pick up tools and debris from the immediate work zone so you are not left dealing with loose parts or trash. If a project involves larger construction or wall repairs, we explain what we handle and what might require a separate contractor, so you know exactly what to expect.
Why is it safer to hire you for electrical work instead of doing it myself?
We work with electrical systems every day, including service panels, generators, EV chargers, and new construction wiring, so we are familiar with how to install and troubleshoot them safely. Electrical work done incorrectly can lead to shocks, fires, or damage to your equipment, especially when dealing with high-demand loads like air conditioning, generators, or vehicle chargers. Our electricians follow electrical codes and use proper testing equipment to verify that circuits, outlets, and panels are functioning correctly before we leave. By having us perform the work, you reduce the risk of hidden hazards and help ensure your system operates as it should over the long term.
