This is a great company to go through for your residential electrical work. Tim was explaining everything he needed to do and why it was being done, and the pricing is phenomenal... they pretty much rewired our entire house from the old cloth wrapped cable to the modern stuff

FAQ

Does Illiana Electrical offer free estimates, and how do you determine the cost for electrical work?

We provide custom quotes based on the specific work you need, such as installing new wiring, updating existing circuits, or adding equipment like an EV charger. Pricing takes into account the scope of the job, the condition of your existing electrical system, materials required, and how long the work is expected to take. For straightforward projects, we can often give a ballpark range up front, and for more involved jobs like rewiring or additions, we may need to inspect first. We discuss options with you before any work starts so you understand what is included and why.

Are you licensed and insured for residential electrical work?

Our work is performed by qualified electricians who install and maintain electrical systems in line with current codes and safety standards. Illiana Electrical carries appropriate insurance for the type of work we do, which helps protect both your home and our team while we are on site. We handle everything from small repairs to larger projects like rewiring or electrical work for remodels, always with a focus on safe installation practices. If you have questions about credentials or coverage, we are happy to walk you through what applies to your project.

Can Illiana Electrical install EV chargers, outlets, and wiring for home remodels or additions?

We handle a wide range of residential electrical projects, including installing EV charging stations, new outlets, and wiring for additions or remodels. Our team can run new circuits, install conduit where needed, and make sure your panel and wiring are set up to support added electrical loads safely. We also take care to follow local electrical codes so that your new work passes inspection and functions reliably. If you are planning a remodel or adding an electric vehicle charger, we can review your existing system and recommend the safest way to expand it.

What should I expect on the day you come out - will Illiana Electrical give me a time window and keep me updated?

We schedule electrical service with a clear arrival window so you know when to expect us. Illiana Electrical makes a point of showing up on time and keeping you informed about what we are doing, from the initial assessment through completion. For most standard jobs, we explain how long the work should take and let you know if we run into anything that might change the timeline. Our goal is to minimize disruption to your day while making sure the work is done correctly and safely.

How does Illiana Electrical handle cleanup and any debris after electrical work is done?

We keep our work areas as neat as possible while we install or repair wiring, outlets, fixtures, or EV chargers. At the end of the job, we collect and remove scrap wire, empty boxes, and other electrical debris generated by our work. Surfaces around the work area are left swept or wiped down so you are not left with dust or packaging to deal with. If any access holes or openings are created as part of the job, we discuss with you how those will be closed or finished as the project wraps up.

Why is it safer to have you handle electrical repairs and installations instead of doing them myself?

We work with electrical systems every day, so we understand how to diagnose issues, size circuits correctly, and install wiring and devices to meet code requirements. DIY electrical work can easily overlook hidden problems in older wiring, overloaded panels, or improper connections that increase the risk of shocks or fire. Our process includes testing circuits and equipment after installation to confirm everything is operating safely and as intended. By having us handle the work, you reduce the chances of costly mistakes and safety hazards that might not be obvious right away.
