They also did a fantastic job on both our interior and exterior remodel - everything looks beautiful. Super easy to work with, always showed up when they said they would, and really cared about getting things just right. First let me share that 10 years ago we purchased a historic home and since the day of the purchase my husband and I have been in an epic battle of love it or list it! I have always had a vision for the home's potential and through the years we have taken on many projects and construction to restore it. This final project would be our last: two bathroom renovations, a custom built-in make up area in master bedroom, creating a laundry room upstairs and unfortunately due to flood damage: refinishing our basement. We have lots of experience with builders through previous projects as well as building two homes from the ground up, in addition to being on the building committee for a commercial project. I have seen the good bad and ugly of construction and did my research to narrow down our choices of contractors. I had been following An Extra Hand online for years and wondered if they really could be as good as all the reviews and put them at the top of our list. An Extra Hand was the hardest to contact only because the owner David is hands on and always on a job, but once I was able to make contact with him, communication was smooth and consistent. Their bid was the most reasonable, partly due to us being able to purchase our own materials which I loved. We signed the contract with high expectations and didn't expect for An Extra Hand to exceed them, but they did! During the 4 months of construction David and his crew Jay and Selvin came to feel like family. Their work was exceptional, they were on time daily, courteous and somehow still clean! We have now had the project complete for several weeks and I still walk around our home in awe. David was able to bring my vision to life and often offered inspired ideas that only made the project better, he is a true master artist! The best part is the debate is over, my husband just told me the home is absolutely perfect and he never wants to leave! Thank you An Extra Hand for making our old house a perfect home, and for an experience that sets the bar so high, that nothing we experienced before even comes close. It's strange to say after living in a construction zone for 4 months, but we actually miss seeing them every day. Let me be clear, with decades of experience behind me saying this: An Extra Hand is the BEST in craftsmanship, work ethic, integrity and value for the money. They are the standard by which all else should be measured. -

The entire team was professional, courteous and friendly. David went above and beyond to give us exactly what we wanted while working to stay within our budget. He is a true craftsman and master carpenter that values quality and customer satisfaction. The custom built ins and island in our closet are second to none. As with any construction project, unforeseen conditions are bound to arise. The Extra Hand team was very quick to resolve the issues and stay on schedule. We already have two more projects in mind and there is no question who will do the work. An Extra Hand exceeded expectations and deserves more than 5 stars.
