2 months agoWalked in right at 8pm and the guy was coming out to lock up at the exact same time. I didn't know it was closing time and he says rudely , "HEY, where you think you're going!?" Instead of, "Hello Sir may I help you.", or "Sorry Sir I was just locking up its closing time." Either way it was very unprofessional, I don't think we'll be back. -

FAQ
How does Ace Hardware - Lafayette, Indiana determine pricing for carpet contracting services?
We base pricing on the specific measurements of your space, materials selected, and labor required for the carpet installation or painting job. Carpet padding is included in our quotes to ensure durability and proper support underfoot. This approach helps you understand all costs upfront without surprises during the project.
Are you licensed and insured for carpet contracting and painting work?
Ace Hardware - Lafayette, Indiana holds the necessary licensing and insurance to protect your home and our team during carpet and painting services. We maintain proper credentials to meet local building codes and handle any potential issues professionally. Homeowners can request proof of these documents before starting any work.
Does Ace Hardware - Lafayette, Indiana handle subfloor preparation and old carpet removal for installations?
We assess and prepare subfloors as needed to ensure a stable base for new carpet, which prevents future issues like buckling or uneven wear. Our team also removes and disposes of old carpet when replacing flooring, leaving your space ready for the new installation. This full-service scope covers typical carpet contracting tasks from start to finish.
What is your typical timeline and arrival window for carpet or painting projects?
Ace Hardware - Lafayette, Indiana provides a clear timeline during the quote, factoring in project size, drying times for paint, and any preparation steps. We arrive within agreed windows, often accommodating larger vehicles with back parking for efficiency. Expect updates if delays occur due to material delivery or weather.
How does Ace Hardware - Lafayette, Indiana handle cleanup and debris after carpet or painting services?
We remove all debris, including old carpet remnants and packaging, disposing of it responsibly to leave your home clean and usable right away. Paint jobs include protecting surrounding areas with drop cloths, which we take away upon completion. This ensures no mess remains for you to deal with post-service.
Why is hiring you for carpet contracting or painting safer and better than doing it yourself?
Our professional approach uses specialized tools and equipment stocked for precise cuts, secure installations, and even paint application, reducing risks like injury from heavy lifting or power tools. We organize workflows efficiently, avoiding common DIY errors such as improper subfloor prep that leads to premature carpet failure. Family-owned operations like ours provide hands-on guidance tailored to your home, outperforming self-attempts in safety and longevity.
