12 months agoWhile I am all for composting, Dirt Wain clearly doesn't care about the safety of this community's pets. It has been months now, that we are not able to let our dogs out into our 6 foot privacy fenced in yard, without supervision. We are struggling with birds dropping the compost scraps into our yard. There are SWARMS of birds uncovering the piles. We have found everything from grapes to onions to garlic, which are all highly toxic for dogs to consume. We were in contact with management to handle this issue but unfortunately nothing has been resolved and now we are not able to get ahold of management at all. We have spoken to others in the neighborhood, and they too have run into issues around this with no solution. We have tried our own deterrents, but it does not help. We have filed a complaint with the Board of Health here in Allen County. Do what you want with this information, but I am just trying to let others know about this poor experience with this establishment. -

2 years agoAs someone who didn't have the energy or skill to compost in my backyard, I was thrilled when I discovered Dirt Wain. They make composting as easy as the garbage! Just toss your food and compostable waste in your bucket (or bin) and they pick it up every week. So easy! The owner is so passionate about reducing the waste at the landfill and any questions I've had were promptly answered. It definitely makes me feel better about finding those moldy leftovers in the back of the fridge! Totally worth the cost.
