Was referred to this company by a colleague so didn't check reviews first. My furnace went down on Dec, 30 2025. Had a company come by and say that my circuit board died and needed to be replaced. They weren't sure if they could get one in a timely matter but would let me know the following day. Since I have a 4th month old at home I didn't want to wait. My colleague referred me to Frank @ Daily HVAC which promptly said he had a circuit board that world work. Carrier units are pretty specific so I mentioned I needed the same board. He said he had it so I drove 45 mins+ to go grab it. When I got there he showed me an after market board that was not even remotely similar to the one I had but was adamant that it would work. I was pretty spectacle and asked if he would do something about it if it didn't work. Frank assured me that he would do something. He then sold me the board for 300$. Fast forward home, I got the board in the furnace turned on (this was around 9pm). Went to bed and woke up around 1AM with the house freezing. I had an overheating error being displayed by the circuit board. I reset it and everything worked fine for around 2 hours where the same error came up. I had to reset the furnace every 2-3 hours so that it would work. I already had scheduled a few companies to come the following day to receive quotes for a new furnace. Every company that came by mentioned that the board was the issue. Later that day I ordered an OEM board for $150 which came in on Friday. (this is after 4 days and 3 nights of me resetting my furnace every 3 hours roughly) I took out Franks after market board and put in the correct board. Since then my furnace has been working perfectly without having to reset. I called Frank back on Friday asking what he could do to fix this issue, along with multiple texts. I wanted to get a refund due to him giving me a bad board. He did not respond to me until Monday saying that he will only refund me 150$ even though he said that he would do something about it if it was wrong. I did not replace anything else in my furnace other than taking out the circuit board. When I mentioned this to Frank he kept blaming other parts in the furnace and kept saying that his board was fine and would work in my unit. All and all I would not recommend Daily HVAC. Looks like Frank and Daily HVAC use after market parts and then hope they work with different furnaces. Not very knowledgeable.

My grandmother hired them to install a furnace and peoples gas came out and they shut off our gas because it the furnace isn't properly ventilated inside the unit. We called them to come out and fix the work they had done, and they hung up on my grandmother. We will be contacting the better business bureau to report them. In addition, we're out more money to get the furnace fixed properly so we have heat during the winter months. Stay away from them if you want the work done correctly. We should paid closer attention to these reviews. Update: we contacted them as they had asked. Told us they would call back, we called them again to allow them to rectify the situation, said they would call back again, and we haven't heard since. In the meantime, I continued to look them up, and they are not better business bureau accredited as someone previously posted. I just feel bad my grandmother is out the money and now we are finding another company to fix this. Stay away! Update two: they called after my first updated review. Said they would charge us $2000 to come out and fix the job they messed up. They installed a furnace that was too large for the space and it wasn't properly ventilated. We will be contacting the attorney generals office as they took advantage of a senior citizen. Please STAY AWAY from them. They responded to this and lied in the response. They never followed up with addressing the issue and did not help. They are a scam. DO NOT USE THEM.

I purchased a new AC unit from Giant in June 2022. After we had it installed, it had some issues which they came out and fixed. Now, three years later the contactor AND compressor already need to be replaced, the parts are luckily still under warranty but the labor is not. Costing me an extra $2k to get done. Giant HVAC was the most affordable quote when I needed to replace my AC, but I wouldn't chose to work with them again.

This company is terrible and highly unprofessional. They used incompatible parts in the machine, causing it to break down. And they don't take responsibility whatsoever.

FAQ

Does Giant HVAC offer free estimates for furnace repairs and AC installations?

We provide detailed quotes based on the specific HVAC issue, such as circuit board or compressor problems, after an initial assessment of your system. Pricing accounts for parts like contactors and labor for repairs or full installations. Homeowners can discuss the full scope upfront to understand all costs involved.

Are you licensed and insured for HVAC work in Chicago?

Giant HVAC carries the necessary licensing and insurance required for HVAC contracting in the local area, covering furnace repairs, AC installations, and component fixes. Our team handles permitting needs for installations like rooftop units. Proof of credentials is available upon request to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Does Giant HVAC handle repairs for circuit boards, compressors, contactors, and ventilation issues?

We repair circuit boards, compressors, and contactors in furnaces and AC units, as well as address ventilation problems to meet code requirements. Our technicians inspect components like those on Goodman and Rheem systems during service calls. This includes fixing refrigerant line connections and ensuring proper airflow in both residential and commercial setups.

What should I expect for arrival times and scheduling with you?

We arrive promptly for heating and cooling service calls, often addressing urgent furnace or AC issues on the same day if scheduled early. Installation timelines for new units like outdoor AC or rooftop systems typically span a few days from quote approval to completion. Clear communication sets expectations for technician arrival windows to minimize wait times.

Does Giant HVAC clean up after furnace and AC service jobs?

We clean up thoroughly after every job, removing debris from furnace repairs, AC installations, and ventilation fixes. Technicians use protective measures like drop cloths during work on components such as compressors or refrigerant lines. Your home is left neat, with no leftover waste from the service.

Why is hiring you safer than attempting HVAC repairs as a DIY project?

Professional repairs ensure safe handling of electrical components like circuit boards and contactors, avoiding risks of shocks or gas leaks from improper ventilation fixes. We follow codes for installations, such as proper refrigerant charging and duct inspections, which prevent system failures or efficiency losses common in DIY attempts. Technicians verify performance post-service, providing follow-up if initial issues persist for long-term reliability.
