14 years agoThis is not the first time I have used American Independent Heating & Air Conditioning. I have been using them to service the furnaces in my unit and my rental unit for the last 4 years. Every year Jim calls to ask when I want him to come out. He had replaced a furnace in the rental unit last year and had pointed out that I had an issue in my unit as well. I had the same model as the rental unit and they had a plastic draft inducer that had cracked. I had them replace the furnace in the rental unit in 2010 but wanted to wait to replace mine. I had hoped that I would be able to replace my furnace and central air as well. The furnace kept my unit comfortable but the air conditioner isn't able to keep it cool enough during the day. Jim said when I was ready he would evaluate everything including the duct work to figure out why I was having issues. Well, this year the crack is much bigger and Jim explained why it was dangerous. Since I wasn't in a position to get the new furnace and air conditioner, I had him replace the cracked inductor. He went out and got one that is all metal so there's no chance it will crack. They installed it about an hour, cleaned up and and now it's working better than ever since it is completely sealed like it should be.
