Not so reliable. The guy seemed nice but was busy . Said from what I described the home I was living in was not safe but he wouldn't be back in the office until Monday and he would look at the pictures I sent him then and get back to me about the situation. I never heard anything else from him. Good thing I wasn't relying solely on him.

I had Reliable Electric out to check a thermostat, wall heater and electrical panel in the home I recently purchased. When the technician arrived, he was clearly upset and even angry once I reviewed my Ring camera footage. He refused to test my electrical panel to check the 2 breakers that my home inspector said had issues and were overheating. He did ask if my water heater was working because it looked like that breaker was tripped. He also indicated that my panel was 20 years old. Even after knowing this, he did not want to do any testing to see if the breakers were working correctly. Once inside, I indicated that I thought the thermostat was broken and needed to be replaced first. I let him know I'd be in the next room if he needed me. Shortly after, I walked into the room while he was taking off the thermostat and he stated, "it just fell apart in my hand". To my surprise, he had already replaced my wall heater. I do not believe he tested the heater before replacing it. I did not feel comfortable saying anything at the time, so I called the office the following day to request my "broken" heater. The receptionist said I could come in to get it, but their trash picks up at 9am. I asked if someone could pull it out for me and she said, "we aren't going to dumpster dive". At that time, I left a message for Gary to call me. The following day I called back and left a message on his personal voicemail. I waited 2 days and called again as I had not heard back. I was able to speak to Gary. He explained that the tech tested my heater by taking off the thermostat and wiring it directly to see if I worked. This was a blatant lie as I saw that the thermostat was still on the wall after my heater had been replaced. I conveyed my concern, and he could care less. I also asked if someone else come out and test my breakers as per my original request or be charged 1/2 hour which was the time spent at my home. To my dismay, he laughed at me and said he'd talk to the owner, but the owner refused to come back out or only charge a 1/2 hour. He said I'd be charged their 1-hour minimum charge due to drive time, which I was never told about. According to their website, I am within their service area and no minimum charge is stated. I do not recommend this company and feel I was taken advantage of. Once I received the bill in the mail, I was charged a $145 Service call and 2 hours of drive time at $105 per hour plus the cost of the heater and thermostat. Again, there was no mention of being charged for drive time. This company has highly unethical business practices in my opinion. I paid the bill under protest and will never use them again. I highly recommend calling a different company for your projects. Thank you for listening.

Reliable Electric had a team of three electricians to install fixtures and light switches. They were very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and neat. They covered sections of carpets and floors to protect them and also took their shoes off since it was raining outside. They were also careful with the fixtures, ensuring they did not get damaged in the process. The pendants they hung were all even and looked beautiful upon completion. Everything works perfectly. I highly recommend them and would call them again as needed.

We worked with Wayne and Casey for majority of our house construction. They were great! They explained everything in detail, answered all of our ridiculous questions, and provided insight and support to ensure we made the right decisions for lighting and outlets. I understand they are busy and sometimes getting a response took longer than expected, but they always kept to their word and finished the project to meet our expectations. The construction portion went so well that we used their recommendation on purchasing a generator and scheduled them to complete the electrical installation. I would recommend these guys to anyone in need of electrical work and we will definitely use them for any future electrical work!

FAQ

How does Reliable Electric determine pricing for electrical work?

We provide free estimates for all electrical projects, whether residential, commercial, or industrial. During the estimate, our technicians assess the scope of work, materials needed, and labor required to give you an accurate quote before any work begins. This allows you to understand the full cost upfront and make an informed decision about your electrical service needs.

Are you licensed and insured?

Reliable Electric maintains proper licensing and insurance to protect both our team and your property during all electrical work. Working with a licensed electrician ensures that installations, repairs, and maintenance meet local electrical codes and safety standards. This protects you from potential hazards like electrocution or electrical fires that can result from improper work.

Can Reliable Electric handle recessed lighting, dimmers, and outlet installation?

We handle a full range of residential electrical installations including recessed lighting, dimmer switches, and outlet installation and replacement. Our journey-level electricians and apprentices work together to ensure quality craftsmanship on every project. Whether you need new fixtures installed or existing electrical components upgraded, we have the expertise to complete the work to code.

What should I expect regarding arrival time and scheduling?

Reliable Electric arrives on time and completes work at the price promised. We understand that your time matters, so we respect scheduled appointments and provide reliable service windows. If you need to discuss specific scheduling needs or have questions about availability, contact us directly to arrange a time that works for your household.

Why is it better to hire Reliable Electric instead of attempting electrical work yourself?

Electrical work involves serious safety risks including electrocution and fire hazards if not done properly. Licensed electricians have specialized training to work safely with high voltage systems, understand electrical codes, and use proper testing equipment like multimeters to verify work is correct. Attempting DIY electrical repairs can void manufacturer warranties on equipment and create dangerous conditions in your home.

How do you handle cleanup and waste removal after completing electrical work?

We leave your home clean and organized after completing electrical installations, repairs, or maintenance work. Our team removes debris and materials associated with the job, ensuring minimal disruption to your living space. If you have specific cleanup preferences or concerns about your home's condition after service, let us know during the estimate or when scheduling your appointment.
