McDaniel Electric came to my house to upgrade my can lighting to LED and to replace my switches and outlets to more modern functioning and looking ones. They were very helpful on the phone before the appointment, came promptly and did excellent work. I will use them again and highly recommend -

6 years agoI have never posted a negative review on Angie's List before this one. McDaniel was unable to fix the problem and said that they didn't have and couldn't locate the materials to do so. However, they charged me $616 for their services. I called another electrician, who worked with ComEd to find what was really a very simple solution to the problem for less than half of what McDaniel charged me for NOT fixing. My sister had warned me not to use them, since apparently the service has significantly declined since the elder Mr. McDaniel is not longer there. I should have listened to her, but instead I am out over $600 to them for not solving the problem. When I called to discuss the problem and expressly asked them to call me back, I did not get a return phone call for over a month. I am sure that the only reason I got a return call was that I hadn't paid my bill and was waiting to talk to them first. Mike McDaniel did not offer any kind of a discount, and did not even apologize for not returning my call. Very disappointed in my serve with them. -

11 years agoWe had a couple of odd jobs that needed to be done - door bell repair, and a repair on an exhaust fan in a powder room. We contacted McDaniel's Electric and they came out quickly and got to work right away. The exhaust fan was no longer in stock as it was 20 years old. Instead of cutting into the ceiling a new opening to fit the new styles, they offered to do a little research and just get the replacement parts. So, my fan is refurbished and works great. The doorbell on this old house gave up - I wanted a simple solution. Wireless doorbell - works excellently. The service was professional and considerate, and clean! -
