4 months agoThey ended up sending out technicians who seemed inexperienced, and it felt like they were more interested in selling me a brand new system than actually fixing or servicing my existing unit. They didn't offer real solutions for the issues I had, and overall the service just didn't feel reliable. I wouldn't recommend them if you're hoping to get honest, dependable work done on an older system. -

7 months agoCalled Flint Heating + Cooling to repair my Daughters Air Conditioner unit was blowing hot air. The unit in the attic was froze up the technician they sent thawed the unit by turning it to heat mode. 4 hours later and 5 lbs of freon later with dye to check for leaks, the unit only cooled the house for 3 days. Called another company who had to change out the entire unit. What a waste of money for less than 3 days. The entire 5 lbs leaked out. What a waste of time and money Would not recommend Flint Heating and Cooling to anyone. -

FAQ
How does Flint Heating and Cooling determine pricing for HVAC repairs and installations?
We provide custom quotes based on the specific work your system needs. Our technicians conduct a thorough inspection of your equipment, ductwork, and electrical components to understand the full scope before giving you a detailed estimate. This approach ensures you know exactly what's included-labor, parts, permits if applicable, and any additional services-so there are no surprises when the work is complete. We're happy to discuss financing options if needed to make the investment more manageable.
Are you licensed and insured?
Flint Heating and Cooling maintains the proper licensing and insurance required to serve the Albany and Leesburg area. We understand that homeowners need confidence in the professionals entering their homes, which is why we carry the necessary coverage and certifications. When you contact us, we're glad to provide proof of our credentials and answer any questions about our qualifications.
Does Flint Heating and Cooling handle frozen AC units and emergency cooling issues?
Yes, we specialize in diagnosing and fixing common AC problems, including frozen units in attics. When an air conditioner freezes up, it's often a sign of restricted airflow or refrigerant issues that need professional attention. Our team knows how to safely thaw the unit and address the underlying cause so the problem doesn't happen again. We pride ourselves on fast turnaround times to get your cooling system running smoothly when you need it most.
What should I expect when you arrive for a service call or installation?
Flint Heating and Cooling sends punctual, courteous technicians who respect your home and time. When we arrive, our team will assess your system thoroughly, explain what we find, and walk you through the recommended next steps. For installations, we handle the setup and testing to ensure everything operates correctly before we leave. We take pride in clear communication throughout the process so you understand what's happening and why.
How does Flint Heating and Cooling approach sizing a new HVAC system for my home?
Proper equipment sizing is critical to system performance and efficiency, which is why we conduct a comprehensive evaluation of your home before recommending a new unit. We assess factors like square footage, insulation levels, existing ductwork, window placement, and local climate to determine the right capacity for your needs. An undersized system will struggle to reach comfortable temperatures, while an oversized unit wastes energy and money. Our detailed approach ensures your new system is matched perfectly to your home's requirements.
Why is professional HVAC installation better than attempting repairs myself?
HVAC systems involve refrigerant handling, electrical connections, and precise airflow requirements that demand specialized training and tools. Improper installation or repair can reduce efficiency, shorten equipment life, and create safety hazards. Professional technicians follow industry standards for refrigerant charge, line set sizing, condensate management, and thermostat setup-details that directly impact comfort and utility bills. We also conduct performance testing after installation to verify everything meets manufacturer specifications, giving you confidence your system will work reliably for years to come.
