5 months agoI'm truly excited to share my experience with The Wire Guys - they came all the way from Milford to help me update lighting in my 175-year-old historic Salisbury home, and I couldn't be more pleased! From the moment I met the owner to the last day on site, their entire team showed exceptional professionalism, care, and craftsmanship. Historic homes can be challenging, but they handled every detail with patience and precision - respecting the home's character while bringing it up to modern standards. Over the three days they spent here, I witnessed a level of diligence and dedication that's hard to come by these days. I'm absolutely thrilled with the outcome and the service they provided. Congratulations and thank you, Wire Guys, for a job well done. Trust and believe - this is a company that truly delivers quality and integrity! - Harold J. Cyr Salisbury, Maryland -

8 months agoI spoke with George over the phone and he spent a lot of time explaining the issues of my questions about knob and tube wiring! I would have definitely hired him if he worked in the city of Wilmington. He was very kind and knowledgeable and gave me another alternative solution which I have never thought of. Thanks so much George! Sincerely, Sandi -

1 year agoThe Wire Guy is a lovely team of kind, knowledgeable professionals! They're so thorough and gave us very reasonable estimates with lots of detail. 1 year agoMy husband and I moved to Smyrna this year and have had George and Aaron out twice to do a variety of improvements in our new home. The first time, we wanted ethernet cables run to four different rooms of the house (not an easy job), some lights switched to LED and a new outlet installed. George and Aaron completed all these jobs expertly, and while in our basement, Aaron let me know he smelled gas. It turned out that a recently installed hot water heater was leaking gas so we had that fixed right away and are so glad that Aaron detected the problem. Recently we had them out again to install a basement outlet for our sump pump and dehumidifier, as well as changing bulbs in fixtures that required a 17-foot ladder to reach. George has taken great care of us every time, charges very reasonable prices, and is lovely to talk to. He will always be our go-to if we have any electrical issues in our house and we're so glad we found him.

FAQ
How does The Wire Guy, LLC determine pricing for electrical services?
We assess the scope of work during an initial inspection to provide a custom quote based on materials, labor, and any necessary upgrades. Factors like the age of your home and type of wiring, such as knob-and-tube systems, influence the final cost. Homeowners can expect transparent pricing with no hidden fees after we explain the details clearly.
Are you licensed and insured for electrical work?
The Wire Guy, LLC carries full licensing and insurance to handle all residential electrical projects safely and in compliance with local codes. Our team members, including professionals like James, George, and Aaron, undergo proper training for tasks from inspections to full rewiring. This coverage protects your property during any service we perform.
Does The Wire Guy, LLC handle knob-and-tube wiring or historic home electrical updates?
We specialize in diagnosing and updating outdated knob-and-tube systems in older homes, including those over 175 years old. Our process involves a thorough inspection to identify hazards before recommending safe modern wiring solutions. This ensures your historic property meets current safety standards without compromising its character.
What is your typical response time for scheduling and arrival?
We schedule appointments quickly, often within hours for urgent needs, and our team arrives promptly within the agreed window. For example, we can show up at your Dover-area home in about an hour after confirming the service. Clear communication throughout keeps you informed of any adjustments to the timeline.
Does The Wire Guy, LLC clean up after electrical jobs and handle debris?
We leave your home clean and tidy by removing all debris, old wiring, and materials from the job site. Our detailed approach includes protecting floors and walls during work to minimize mess. You can expect the space to be restored as we found it, ready for immediate use.
Why is hiring you safer than attempting DIY electrical work?
Professional electricians follow strict safety codes to prevent shocks, fires, or code violations that DIY efforts often cause due to lack of specialized tools and knowledge. We explain each step, like testing circuits or upgrading panels, so you understand the risks involved. This methodical process avoids hazards and ensures long-term reliability in your home's electrical system.
