5 months agoI'm truly excited to share my experience with The Wire Guys - they came all the way from Milford to help me update lighting in my 175-year-old historic Salisbury home, and I couldn't be more pleased! From the moment I met the owner to the last day on site, their entire team showed exceptional professionalism, care, and craftsmanship. Historic homes can be challenging, but they handled every detail with patience and precision - respecting the home's character while bringing it up to modern standards. Over the three days they spent here, I witnessed a level of diligence and dedication that's hard to come by these days. I'm absolutely thrilled with the outcome and the service they provided. Congratulations and thank you, Wire Guys, for a job well done. Trust and believe - this is a company that truly delivers quality and integrity! - Harold J. Cyr Salisbury, Maryland -

8 months agoI spoke with George over the phone and he spent a lot of time explaining the issues of my questions about knob and tube wiring! I would have definitely hired him if he worked in the city of Wilmington. He was very kind and knowledgeable and gave me another alternative solution which I have never thought of. Thanks so much George! Sincerely, Sandi -

1 year agoThe Wire Guy is a lovely team of kind, knowledgeable professionals! They're so thorough and gave us very reasonable estimates with lots of detail. They explained everything, answered all of our questions, and never rushed. They showed up early to do the work and were clean and so respectful of our home. I can't recommend them enough! -

1 year agoMy husband and I moved to Smyrna this year and have had George and Aaron out twice to do a variety of improvements in our new home. The first time, we wanted ethernet cables run to four different rooms of the house (not an easy job), some lights switched to LED and a new outlet installed. George and Aaron completed all these jobs expertly, and while in our basement, Aaron let me know he smelled gas. It turned out that a recently installed hot water heater was leaking gas so we had that fixed right away and are so glad that Aaron detected the problem. Recently we had them out again to install a basement outlet for our sump pump and dehumidifier, as well as changing bulbs in fixtures that required a 17-foot ladder to reach. George has taken great care of us every time, charges very reasonable prices, and is lovely to talk to. He will always be our go-to if we have any electrical issues in our house and we're so glad we found him.

FAQ
How does The Wire Guy determine pricing for services like home theater setups or security systems?
We determine pricing based on a detailed inspection of your home to assess the scope, including pre-wiring needs, structured wiring, and any troubleshooting for networks or phones. Factors like the size of the space, complexity of audio distribution or surveillance installation, and materials required all influence the final quote. This ensures you receive a fair, customized estimate tailored to your specific project without hidden fees.
Are you licensed and insured for electrical work?
The Wire Guy carries full licensing and insurance to cover all electrician, handyman, home security, and home theater services. Our team follows local codes in Dover, DE, for tasks like electrical panel upgrades, chandelier installations, and Tesla charger setups. Homeowners can request proof of credentials before we start any job to confirm compliance and protection.
Does The Wire Guy handle niche tasks like Tesla charger installation or chandelier lighting?
We handle specialized tasks such as installing Tesla electric vehicle chargers on walls, chandelier lighting fixtures in foyers, and outdoor electrical panels. Our expertise extends to commercial LED lighting, surge protection devices on panels, and full structured wiring for heat management or security systems. These services ensure safe, code-compliant results for both residential and unique setups.
What is your typical timeline and arrival window for scheduling?
We schedule appointments quickly, often arriving within an hour for urgent needs or setting firm windows for larger projects like whole-home wiring. Timelines depend on scope, such as a few hours for troubleshooting or several days for stereo home theater and surveillance installs. Our crew communicates exact arrival times and completes jobs efficiently to minimize disruption.
How does The Wire Guy handle cleanup and after-service care?
We clean up all debris, tools, and materials after completing electrical panels, lighting fixtures, or security system installations, leaving your home tidy. Our process includes testing systems post-install to confirm functionality and providing guidance on maintenance for audio distribution or network setups. This approach ensures your space is ready for immediate use without lingering mess.
Why is hiring you safer and better than attempting DIY electrical projects?
Professional electricians use specialized tools and training to avoid risks like shocks, fires, or code violations that DIY often causes, especially with knob and tube wiring or surge protection. We inspect thoroughly, as in fixing prior poor wiring jobs or updating historic home lighting, to deliver lasting, safe results on the first visit. Homeowners save time and prevent costly fixes by relying on our methodical approach over unguided attempts.
