9 months agoAaron has been our lawn contractor for a few years now - very pleased. This year, after spending probably $200-$300/year on perennials and shrubs EVERY YEAR, but most of which succumb to ravenous hunger (eat most plants to the ground) by our neighborhood large population of rabbits, I asked his crew to install a "rabbit-proof fence." This was 36" wide, 1x1 14ga mesh galvanized steel fencing around our back yard perimeter (attached to existing rail fencing). His crew, battling heavy clay, buried that mesh 8-12" into the ground to deter rabbits digging underneath - which they WILL do if this isn't done properly. RESULT: ZERO rabbits, and a now lush backyard, with big flower beds. No longer eaten to the ground. Stress levels dropped like a stone as a result too, with no ugly individual caging. Our grass is dramatically healthier too, with no big dead patches covered in rabbit poop. Our next door neighbor then did the same with their yard after seeing the difference! Would strongly recommend Aaron's crew to anyone thinking they have a similar problem! They did a great job. -

9 months agoI can not say enough good things about Aaron and his staff. Aaron is always courteous and willing to help any way he can. He took a tree stump out of our garden and leveled it up. He cleaned away a lot of debris that had built up over the years. After our raised garden beds were built they came back and filled them all. Lots of hard work. Aaron is always punctual and makes no excuses as to why he can't be there, he's there. He's done landscaping and did exactly what I wanted. Yard care and snow removal. You can't go wrong hiring Aaron and his crew -

9 months ago2 out of 5 Stars - Would Not Recommend I hired Aaron's Lawn Service to care for my personal residence for several years, and later entrusted them with my 78-year-old mother's property. For context, I'm a former landscape design, installation, and maintenance business owner with 15 years of experience and a degree in Landscape Horticulture from CSU ('99). I closed my company about a decade before meeting Aaron. I'm a Windsor native and have spent most of my life there, now living in Severance. On a personal level, I've always liked Aaron. He's personable and easy to talk to, and his crew generally did good work at my home. However, when I brought Aaron's Lawn Service in to care for my mother's yard, several issues arose. Poor Communication and Responsiveness Response times were consistently slow. My elderly mom often had to reach out multiple times before getting a reply. Snow removal was frequently delayed and sometimes completed only after the snow had already mostly melted. Complete Loss of the Backyard Landscape A few years into the service, my mom's entire backyard died... grass, trees, and shrubs. There was no meaningful investigation by Aaron's team. No soil samples were taken and tested (despite CSU being an obvious resource), and no effort was made to diagnose or resolve the problem. We had one meeting, and that was the end of it. I don't believe Aaron's team caused the die-off, but they certainly could have taken more initiative. When you're trusted to maintain a property, you need to show care and responsibility when something goes wrong. When I ran my company, we once replaced an entire yard because a mulch product we used developed a slime mold. We didn't argue. We fixed it. That's what true customer service looks like. Mishandling of a Broken Sprinkler The final straw came last year. One of the workers ran over a sprinkler head that was clearly sticking up. I called Aaron and asked him to replace it. He agreed, but said he would be charging my mom for the repair. That's not acceptable. Crews should check for visible sprinkler heads before mowing, and if they damage one, even unintentionally, they should fix it at no cost. Especially for an elderly, long-term client. Back when I owned my business, one of our mowers likely sent a rock through a customer's sliding glass door. We replaced it. No questions asked. Would I ever hire Aaron again? No. Would I recommend Aaron's Lawn Service? No. Do I think you might get a decent job done? Maybe. But in my case, when things went wrong, the company showed a lack of professionalism, poor customer service, and an unwillingness to take ownership. That's not the kind of business I can stand behind, especially when elderly clients are involved. Attached is a picture of my mom's dead backyard and the broken sprinkler in the front.
