  Normally I don't leave bad reviews, but buyer beware. Poor customer service, poor build. Fence guru put in a 3 rail cedar fence for me in the winter of 2020. Called them when I turned sprinkler water on in spring to fix a broken water line from fence install. They would not return my calls. The galvanized grid was literally installed with 1/2 staples, used for Chrismas lights. I had to fix all that. Junky Phillips screws were used, metal self tappers were used to install my gate to wood. One of the gates has always fit poorly. The 6x6 posts tops were not cut an angle per my request. Not asking for anything, just a half-A job truthfully.

  We had a fence installed in late 2020 and it was beautiful, but started falling apart in 2022. I've tried reaching out and emailing him multiple times (8/1/22, 9/17/2022, 10/23/2022, and 11/27/2022) to see if they come look at it to see if this is normal and if it can be fixed.. I've received no response back. I'm pretty sure a fence should last longer than a few years before coming apart.

  Very pleased at how the fence looks! Blaine and his crew worked with me and my vision for a fence. They were able to accurately build exactly what I had in mind.

  I've tried to hold off on a negative review but I've had it. Less than 6 months after paying thousands for a new fence and we've had multiple issues - including having to call Blane back out several times to fix poor work, posts coming of their anchors, and now part of our brand new fence is ready to fall off into the alley. The trouble started right after we signed our contract - scheduling and rescheduling. Promises of work to come. We wanted to give a fair amount of grace given the state of the world in 2020, and we did. When Blane and his crew simply didn't show up for 2 days in the middle of the job, we forgave him because he and his crew were, " burnt out and needed a break", ehich eould not have been a big deal if he had communicated that in any way at all. When his high school or college aged(?) crew member was left unsupervised, placing pickets unevenly (sold to us as high quality but turned out to be knotty, low quality), and hitting our irrigation line not once, not twice, but 3 times we forgave. When a main post on the back gate started coming off the wall of our garage 2 months after completion, then took another 2 weeks of begging Blane to come fix it, we forgave. This morning I saw the back fence getting ready to fall and that's it, I've had it.

  UPDATE: I was able to connect with Blaine regarding my concerns/needs and my fence is once again beautiful, functional, and secure. The repairs were done within a week of us connecting and at a fair price with upgraded hardware. I was happy to hear that Blaine and his small local business has experienced significant growth during the pandemic which means they will be around for years to come to help me keep my fence looking beautiful and with future projects that I have planned for my property. Thank you again to Blaine and his guys at Fence Guru! My original experience with Fence Guru was 4* worthy with my only complaint of the building process being that the temporary orange security fence that was installed that did not really provide any security was left up two extra days and was concerning because the items in my yard were fully exposed to anyone walking along the alley adjacent to my property. That being said, the fence and gate that were built looked beautiful with the exception that the locking mechanism that was installed stuck and required a lot of messing with to get to function properly without sticking. Last summer I had some landscaping completed in my yard and it caused cosmetic damage to two posts (a few chips). I contacted Blaine requesting him to assess the posts for replacement (making it clear that I was willing to pay for the work in my messages as I really just wanted to make my fence look nice). Blaine called me back, once, and left a message saying he would be willing to assess the posts, however despite multiple attempts to call and text him back after the one message he left me to set up the time, he never answered or responded. I sort of gave up as winter was coming and the damage was only cosmetic in nature. Fast forward 2 years and the gate (I rarely use it because I rarely need to) has fallen off the posts at the hinges (screws pulled right out of the wood) and the locking mechanism has come off completely requiring me to put in temporary screws to reattach out so that I can secure my property. Needless to say I'm frustrated, because I referred Fence Guru to friends (after my initial experience) who have used them for their projects and I feel like I have been a reasonable and communicative customer, but now I cannot get them to do any additional work even if I'm willing to pay. I feel like the only way to get a response is to write this review in hopes that they will reach out to me so that we can discuss my fence and the necessary work, that I'm willing to pay for, needed to repair and maintain it. I would love to amend this review later for a better rating if they could reach out and discuss these issues with me.
