I would give it five stars except for the drywall disaster they left me with. When they told me they cut a small hole to blow the foam in, I assumed that meant a hole small enough it doesn't need a patch. They told me I would be able to "paint right over" the drywall after the spackle dried. Nope. The holes are 3" wide and the giant globs of spackle just has a bunch of cracks now that it is dry. They were sloppy with their finish work and I now have to hire somebody to come in and fix it. The spots have big globs of spackle that need to be sanded down and then it's so thick in many places it will need to be feathered out. It's not a simple fix as they suggest. So either they aren't honest when they explain the process or I had a crew that just did a sloppy job on the drywall. Then to top it off... they stuck one of their advertising signs in my yard when they left without asking permission. It's nobody's business what I just had done to my house. Then a guy just called me regarding my issue and started out adversarial by reading the contract back to me. I had zero issue with having to do a little bit of cleanup work to paint over it. My issue is the sloppy job they did. He just wanted to blame the sales rep. Just know you need to fire a drywall crew to come out and do the finish work. Make sure you line that up ahead of time so you don't have to go a long time with giants clumps of sloppy drywall mud on your walls. And include that in your cost analysis as well. The man on the phone made it very clear "they aren't in the drywall business". Yes. Obviously. They are in the sloppy mudding, sticking signs in your yard, arguing with customers insulation business.

Ivan and his crew did a fantastic job injecting foam insulation into the walls of our 1918 Craftsmen home. When it became evident that my idea of injecting foam through holes drilled in the siding was not going to work, Ivan adapted to an interior wall penetration and got the job done in one day. The crew was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. The house is noticeably quieter, warmer and less drafty. The only knock is there was one area in the back stairway that should have been injected. I didn't catch that until later.

Not a good experience! Was interested in the noise reduction aspect, and have seen no improvement. Crew showed up with a broken IR camera, the only device that can prove the work was done. Came back the next day with a working camera but the foam had cooled so couldn't see if the work was actually completed. Called Tyler, the sales rep, who couldn't hand me off to someone else fast enough. I eventually made them come out to physically drill holes under the siding. Manager who was there thought I was being unreasonable and wanted the crew to work quickly until they started drilling holes and realized LESS THAN HALF THE WORK WAS DONE! Even knowing that, they still tried to take shortcuts and avoid completing the work. Finally, less than 24 hours after, I was hounded for payment, despite two previous good faith payments. Find someone else!

The crew was amazing, professional and took great care of my property throughout the two days' long job, both foam injection and blown insulation.

Project Manager Tyler is great to work with. Crew was polite, professional, efficient and fast. There isxa noticeable difference in our upstairs now with the new insulation. We will use their services again in our rental unit.

FAQ

How does Rocky Mountain RetroFoam LLC determine pricing for injection foam insulation?

We provide custom quotes based on your home's size, the number of wall cavities to be insulated, your exterior siding material, and whether installation occurs from the outside or inside. Our team uses thermal imaging and blower door tests to identify air leaks and assess the scope of work needed. We recommend scheduling a consultation so we can evaluate your specific situation and provide an accurate estimate. Most estimates are free, allowing you to understand the full cost before committing to the project.

Are you licensed and insured to perform insulation work in Colorado?

Rocky Mountain RetroFoam LLC backs every job with a lifetime warranty, demonstrating our commitment to quality and accountability. We recommend verifying current licensing and insurance details by contacting us directly or checking our credentials on the Colorado Division of Professions website. Homeowners should always ask for proof of insurance and licensing before hiring any contractor to protect themselves during the installation process.

Can Rocky Mountain RetroFoam LLC handle insulation work on older homes like mine?

We specialize in retrofitting existing walls in older homes, including Craftsman bungalows and other period properties common in Denver. Our crew adapts the installation method based on your exterior material-whether you have brick, vinyl, aluminum, wood, stucco, or other siding. We use thermal imaging to pinpoint exactly where air leaks exist, ensuring we target the right areas. This approach works for homes of any age without requiring major remodels or structural changes.

How long does the installation process typically take?

Rocky Mountain RetroFoam LLC's timeline depends on your home's size and the number of walls being insulated, but most residential projects are completed within one to three days. The crew begins by removing a section of siding, drilling holes into each stud cavity, injecting the foam, and then replacing the siding. We'll provide a more specific timeline during your consultation based on the scope of your project. Weather conditions and the condition of your existing siding may also affect the schedule.

What does Rocky Mountain RetroFoam LLC do with the mess created during installation?

We take cleanup seriously and ensure your home is left in the condition we found it. When drilling through exterior siding, we contain dust and debris at the work site. If we're installing from the inside, we cover all surfaces and items in the area with plastic before beginning work, then remove the protective coverings and clean up thoroughly once the foam injection is complete. Our crew plugs all drilled holes with appropriate materials-whether wood plugs, mortar, or caulk-depending on your siding type, so the exterior looks finished and professional.

Why is professional injection foam installation better than doing it yourself?

Professional installation ensures complete cavity fill, which is critical for energy efficiency and air sealing. Our crew uses specialized equipment like a Slim Jim tool to detect obstructions, fire stops, and studs that could block foam from reaching the top and bottom of cavities. If we encounter blockages, we drill additional holes above or below them to guarantee full coverage. We also use thermal imaging to verify the work is done correctly-something a homeowner cannot do alone. Improper installation leaves gaps that reduce effectiveness, so the investment in professional work pays off through better insulation performance and lasting results.
