1 month agoJust Heat Pumps was really wonderful to work with as we installed a heat pump in our house to replace a gas furnace and AC. Initially, I took out multiple quotes from other recommended HVAC companies but overall I felt like I wasn't getting the time and attention to my home's issues. I had major temperature differentials between the 1st and 2nd floor and air pressure differences in rooms that compounded the issue. It seemed like other companies didn't really take that seriously. I also got multiple different heat pump size recommendations. So I took about 6 months to research the science and by the end of that I finally found Just Heat Pumps with a very scientific and responsive approach. During the first visit, they really spoke about the system in a way that matched my research. The quote they provided was very straightforward and they did not deviate from that original pricing. The installation process was very professional and the folks kept my house nice and clean, with quality installation of the air handler and ducting. Based off the pressure differentials, the installation team came up with a inventive, yet cost effective duct system that allows air to circulate throughout the rooms upstairs without light and sound transfer (to help my baby). They also worked with an electrician that knew his stuff (Ampro) and he set us up nicely, futureproofing our house. Xerxes and team have visited multiple times since installation to check on performance and are very responsive. Plus their website has lots of helpful info on rebates, etc. Overall, Just Heat Pumps was great to work with. Compared to others, their prices seem slightly higher, but I would say that it is a premium well worth it. With performance, the Fujitsu heat pump did well in the recent cold snap. It was also helping in the tail end of the summer with the hot upstairs. The overall comfort of the house is much improved. It will also help us keep our home more protected from poor air quality on the front range. We used to need to open and close windows a lot to get air flow. I would say that using a heat pump has increased our warming electricity costs but brought down our gas usage significantly. I wouldn't say it is saving us money in the winter, just shifting costs to electricity. Overall, we highly recommend them! -

1 month agoTom came by to take some measurements, readings etc to prepare a quote. I was very happy with his work - he is very knowledgeable, friendly and was all round a pleasure to have visit my home. I am looking forward to the quote and would be very comfortable with having him do the work. Update a few months later: I went with JHH for my heat pump, and I am very glad that I did. They did a fantastic job, quoted very competitively, installed a high quality unit, and have been extremely responsive with my questions after the fact. There was a small issue with my electrical circuit (not the unit itself) and the owner came down in the middle of the night at 3f to bring space heaters to keep us comfortable until a fix could be made. I am extremely grateful and would recommend JHH completely. -

3 months agoFrom start to finish we had a great experience with Just Heat Pumps. They helped us navigate the very confusing set of rebates and credits to ensure we maximized our savings. They guided us in performing worthwhile upgrades to our home insulation and sealing to optimize the size of heat pump (again, saving money and energy). They were helpful, professional, great communicators, and really took care of everything along the way. My wife and I appreciated the way they gave us the information we needed without overwhelming us. Their installation staff were dedicated to getting our system installed and configured exactly as we need it and keeping the space cleaned up after them. Our house is more comfortable, we have a smart thermostat, and it's great peace of mind knowing it will last for a long time. The new system takes up less space inside and they located the exterior part in a better location compared to our old A/C unit. In talking to them we heard about their practices for proactive outreach in case any issues come up with the hardware. I'm confident we can rely on their service if a need arises in the future. Our thanks goes out to Xerxes, Erin, and their crew! -

3 months agoXerxes, Erin and Brenda are great people and provide great service and products. Our project was a difficult installation because of space limitations in our older home. We initially talked with two other companies. Both gave us the "We can do it" spiel but when the time came to start work, they both said, "We can't make it fit." Just Heat Pumps to the rescue!!! Xerxes has a scientific and engineering background as a School of Mines professor and he painstakingly designed it and made it fit in our home. We are extremely pleased with the heat pump they installed. Erin took care of the paperwork and made the rebate/incentives part of the process a breeze! We just had a complementary tune up service yesterday and Brenda was friendly, courteous and proficient. Don't be foolish - If you are talking with another company, you are wasting your time and money. Just Heat Pumps is the best!!! -

3 months agoI couldn't have been happier with every aspect of working with Just Heat Pumps. When I first decided to get a heat pump, a different company was referred to me, and meeting with them was not great. They didn't give me enough information. I'm so glad I waited and found Just Heat Pumps. They gave me so much more information and communication was always clear and thorough. Erin and Xerxes were both wonderful. And they have followed up with me and been out to make sure everything is perfect. I am very satisfied with my heat pump. I have been through a cold winter with it, but not yet through a summer.

FAQ
How does Just Heat Pumps determine the cost of a heat pump installation?
We provide custom quotes based on several factors including your home's size, current heating and cooling system, ductwork modifications needed, and equipment selection. A proper heat pump installation in Denver typically ranges from $4,500 to over $10,000, with most homeowners paying around $5,200. Our team performs a detailed Manual J load calculation to accurately size your system, which ensures efficiency and prevents costly oversizing or undersizing. We'll break down all costs upfront-equipment, labor, ductwork changes, permits, and warranty information-so there are no surprises.
Are you licensed and insured to install heat pumps in Colorado?
Just Heat Pumps operates as a registered contractor eligible to work within Colorado's rebate programs, which requires meeting specific licensing and compliance standards. Our technicians are trained and experienced in navigating Denver's permitting requirements and energy codes. We handle the technical engineering and permitting process properly, which many contractors overlook. You can verify our credentials and ask about our insurance coverage during your initial consultation.
Can Just Heat Pumps handle heat pump installation in older homes with space constraints?
Yes, we specialize in installing heat pumps in older Denver homes with challenging layouts and limited space. Our team has experience working around structural constraints and can recommend solutions like ductless mini-split systems when traditional ducted setups aren't feasible. We also assess whether your home needs additional upgrades-such as asbestos remediation, electrical panel upgrades, or air sealing-before installation begins. Your initial consultation includes a thorough home evaluation to identify the best approach for your specific situation.
How long does a typical heat pump installation take at my home?
Just Heat Pumps typically completes standard installations in one to three days, depending on your home's layout and whether ductwork modifications are needed. The full timeline also includes our Manual J load calculation, equipment ordering, and any necessary home assessments before installation begins. We recommend scheduling your installation in fall months like September and October to ensure your system is operational before winter arrives. Our team will provide a realistic timeline during your consultation based on your home's specific requirements.
What happens to my old furnace and AC unit when Just Heat Pumps installs a new heat pump?
We handle the removal and disposal of your old equipment as part of the installation process. Our team ensures your home is left clean and properly finished after the work is complete. If your home contains older materials like asbestos in ductwork, we identify this during the assessment phase and coordinate proper remediation before proceeding. We'll discuss all debris removal and cleanup expectations before work begins so you know exactly what to expect.
Why should I hire a professional instead of attempting a DIY heat pump installation?
Heat pump installation requires precise engineering and proper sizing-an improperly sized system wastes money and leaves you uncomfortable, which is why professional load calculations are essential. Our technicians ensure correct refrigerant charge, electrical connections, and ductwork integration, all critical for safety and efficiency. We also navigate permitting, rebate programs, and warranty requirements that homeowners typically find confusing. Professional installation protects your investment and ensures your system delivers the efficiency and comfort you're paying for.
