1 year agoShould have a no star option. Run from these people, They installed a new unit in 2018, Did not connect the drain hose in the attic it destroyed my kitchen ceiling. They sent a drunk dry wall guy he slapped some putty on the ceiling said he'd be back the next day to finish never saw him again. I finished the work myself after trying to connect smart cool for 3 weeks. Now this week 2025 the evaporator coil has a hole in it and must be replaced no problem right it came with a 10 year warranty, wrong smart cool did not register my equipment as they said they did after the install. -

1 year agoThis company sure will sell you a new unit. They were supposed to come back after two weeks to recharge the unit. That never happened. We knew from the beginning the air conditioner was really loud. At our 1 year mark of having this unit the air completely stopped working. My husband has called this fraudulent company over 17 times with screen shots to back it up and left voicemails. No call backs whatsoever. So when our air went out last Wednesday July 24th he messages them on Facebook. He gets a response. They deny him ever calling, he sends screenshots, they say o well you didn't leave voicemails. He sends the dates that he left voicemails. They said well we have to check our call records as if it's still unbelievable. No apology at all. With our air being out leaving our 1 year old daughter and our two sons in the heat they will add us to the list from Wednesday all the way till Monday in July!!!! Monday comes around no call no show no message!!! My husband calls, no answer, sends a message asking when they're coming and he gets nothing back! This company is the dirtiest company i have ever experienced. They left the duct work open to where it was cooling the underneath of our house instead of the inside. The water drainage went straight down onto the insulation under our home. Thankfully we have a camper to cool our family off in but what if we didn't? -

1 year agoThis is a nightmare company to do business with. They will not show up when they say they will be there. They finally started my job in November of 2022. Here it is June of 2023 and my job is still incomplete. They promise to come out "this week" and never show up. I've heard every excuse. From funerals, nobody's cell phone worked for a week, every single person in the company was sick, and the list goes on and on! Then, they stole 10 of my tools as they left, which they did replace a few of them. Once they collect the money, you will never hear from the owners Pat and Lori again. The quality of work is very poor. It looks like a 5th grader installed my unit. Buyer beware!. I will not use this company ever again. And some of these reviews are from employees, like Gracie Graham(their mobile receptionist. ) Fast forward to January 2024...I go upstairs to find a puddle of water in the floor, which is right below my new unit in the attic. They did not hook up the cutoff switch to the condensation line. They just shoved the wires into the control box, and made it appear to be hooked up. My outside line froze, backed up, and overflowed in my attic, which leaked through the sheetrock ceiling and causing the puddle of water 6' in diameter on my floor. Let me repeat....to save yourself some frustration and headache, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! -

FAQ
How does Smartcool Inc. determine pricing for HVAC work, and do you offer free estimates?
We provide detailed written estimates that break down labor costs, equipment pricing, and any additional materials needed for your specific job. Our estimates include the scope of work, timeline, and warranty information so you understand exactly what you're paying for before we begin. We recommend getting estimates from multiple contractors to compare pricing and service offerings in your area.
Are you licensed, insured, and certified to perform HVAC work?
Smartcool Inc. maintains the proper licensing and insurance required to operate as an HVAC contractor in Arkansas. When you contact us, we can provide proof of our credentials and certifications. Licensing and insurance are essential protections for you-they verify that we meet state and local requirements and provide recourse if property damage or other issues occur during installation or repair work.
Does Smartcool Inc. handle ductwork installation and inspection as part of your services?
Yes, we handle ductwork installation, inspection, and modifications as part of our comprehensive HVAC services. Our team evaluates ductwork for leaks, restrictions, and proper sizing to ensure your system performs efficiently. Proper ductwork design and installation are critical-even correctly sized equipment underperforms if ducts are leaky or poorly designed, which can reduce comfort, increase noise, and shorten equipment life.
What should I expect regarding your arrival time and installation timeline?
Smartcool Inc. responds quickly to service requests, including weekend emergencies when cooling systems fail during hot weather. We provide clear communication about expected timelines from initial contact through installation completion. Our team will discuss the full project schedule, including any permitting or inspection requirements, so you can plan accordingly and know when to expect us on-site.
How does Smartcool Inc. handle cleanup and protection of my home during installation?
We take care to protect your home during any HVAC work by using drop cloths and maintaining a clean work environment. Our installation process includes proper cleanup after the job is complete. We also conduct performance testing at completion to verify airflow, refrigerant charge, and system operation, and we walk you through operation and maintenance of your new equipment.
Why is professional HVAC installation better than attempting this work yourself?
Professional HVAC installation requires specialized knowledge in equipment sizing, refrigerant handling, electrical connections, and ductwork design that goes beyond DIY capability. Improper installation decreases system efficiency and shortens equipment lifespan, potentially costing you thousands in premature replacement or repairs. Our technicians follow industry best practices including proper line set sizing, correct refrigerant charge verification, condensate drain installation to code, and thermostat setup-details that directly impact your comfort and energy bills for years to come.
