2 years agoI recently had the pleasure of working with Hughes Landscaping to transform my outdoor space, build a shed, sod my whole yard, and resolve drainage issues, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From start to finish, my experience has been nothing short of outstanding. The initial consultation with their team was impressive. They took the time to listen to my ideas and vision for my backyard and offered their expertise and creative input. It was clear right from the start that they were passionate about their work and dedicated to delivering exceptional results. One of the things that stood out to me was their attention to detail. They meticulously planned every aspect of my projects, from my first interaction with John and Carter to their management throughout the half-dozen projects I've engaged with them on. Their solutions were not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and sustainable. The actual installation of all my projects was smooth, efficient, and exceptionally performed. The crew was punctual, professional, and clearly skilled in their craft. They worked tirelessly to bring the designs to life, and the results were breathtaking. The hardscaping, including the patio, shed, and drainage issues, was flawlessly executed, and the landscaping afterward was carefully planned and implemented to create a vibrant and harmonious outdoor oasis. The communication with John and Carter Hughes was excellent throughout my projects. They kept me informed every step of the way, and any questions or concerns I had were addressed promptly. This level of transparency and professionalism was greatly appreciated and added to the overall positive experience. Now that many projects are completed, I couldn't be happier with the outcome. My front and backyard have been transformed into a beautiful and inviting space I can't wait to spend time in. It's not just landscaping; it's a work of art! I highly recommend Hughes Landscaping to anyone looking to enhance their outdoor space, patios, and complex construction projects. Their expertise, attention to detail, and dedication to customer satisfaction set them apart from other contractors. If you want a company that will exceed your expectations and create a space you'll love for years to come, look no further than Hughes Landscaping. Thank you for turning my landscaping and construction dreams into a reality! -

7 years agoI just wanted to take a moment to recommend Hughes Landscaping for any difficult or larger project. [Link removed] 301-330-4949 John Hughes came highly recommended by many neighbors and was great to work with. While my 30 year old very high deck was in great shape at the top because of regular cleaning, sealing and maintenance, the supports holding it were rotting in the ground. Jacking up each support and replacing 14 of them safely and expertly was no mean feat. After the last two years of rain, my back yard beyond the deck posts was a steep and dangerous cliff. John built a well-engineered retaining wall the width of my property and with railing and hardscaping I have a lovely rear yard which is safe for adults and children now with beautiful woodland views. The improvement to our property is immeasurable. Anyone is welcome to come by and check it out. I have put off this project for years because it just seemed too complex and impossible. -

9 years agoThey come every week, every Friday. I also use them for weeding, and that takes 3 or 4 days to get it done. They just come when ever they want. -

FAQ
How does Hughes Tree and Landscaping determine pricing for tree removal and trimming?
We provide custom quotes based on the specific details of your project, including tree size, location, complexity, and what equipment is needed. Factors like whether a tree is near your home, its health condition, and the amount of debris removal all affect the final cost. We recommend scheduling a consultation so our team can assess your trees in person and give you an accurate estimate before any work begins.
Are you licensed and insured for tree work?
Hughes Tree and Landscaping carries the necessary insurance coverage to protect both your property and our crew during tree removal, trimming, and stump grinding work. When you hire a tree service, it's essential to verify that the company has general liability and workers' compensation insurance. This protects you in case of any property damage or injury during the job, so don't hesitate to ask us to show proof of our coverage.
What specific tree services does Hughes Tree and Landscaping offer beyond basic trimming?
We handle tree removal, trimming, stump grinding, and storm-damaged limb cleanup. Our services also extend to overgrown branches around homes and hardscaping work that complements your landscape. Whether you need preventive pruning to keep trees healthy long-term or emergency removal of hazardous trees, our crew has the equipment and expertise to manage projects of varying difficulty and scale.
How quickly can you schedule tree work, and what should I expect for timing?
Hughes Tree and Landscaping works with homeowners to find scheduling that fits their needs, and we can often accommodate both routine maintenance and urgent situations. Tree removal and major trimming typically require a single visit, though the duration depends on the project's complexity and the equipment needed. For ongoing services like regular trimming or lawn care, we establish a consistent schedule so you know when to expect us.
What does Hughes Tree and Landscaping do with tree debris and waste after removal?
We focus on leaving your property clean and ready to use after the work is complete. Debris from trimming and removal is cleared away, and we can discuss options like chipping limbs for mulch or stacking wood depending on your preference. The cleanup process should be discussed upfront so both you and our team understand what's included and what any additional services might cost.
Why should I hire a professional tree service instead of doing the work myself?
Tree work at height involves serious risks including electrical hazards, unpredictable falling limbs, and equipment-related injuries that require proper training and safety gear. Professional arborists use specialized equipment like boom lifts and cranes to control where trees and branches land, protecting your home and property from damage. Unless you can keep both feet firmly on the ground, professional tree services are the safer choice for your family and your investment in your landscape.
