6 years agoShould have paid more and hired an electrician. Handyman could not complete the job - no parts. Showed husband what needed to be replaced. The husband replaced switches and fluorescent bulbs (with led bulbs). The light still is not working in one row of bulbs. Decided to have an electrician take out current lighting fixtures and find a suitable replacement.

FAQ
How does Gibson's Southwest Maintenance determine pricing for handyman work?
We provide transparent estimates upfront, either hourly or per project, and clearly explain any potential extra charges before starting the job. When you contact us, we'll discuss the scope of your repair or installation and give you a detailed quote that breaks down both labor and materials so there are no surprises on your bill. We also let you know if we charge for travel time or have minimum hour requirements.
Are you licensed and insured?
Gibson's Southwest Maintenance operates with the proper credentials to handle the range of services we offer, from electrical and plumbing work to roofing and general construction. Proper licensing and insurance protect you in case something unexpected happens during the job, so you're not left responsible for accidents or damage. This is a standard you should always verify with any home service professional before hiring.
What specific services does Gibson's Southwest Maintenance handle for doors and windows?
We specialize in door and window work, which includes installation, repair, and maintenance. Whether you need new door hardware installed, a stuck door fixed, window coverings hung, or damaged screens repaired, our crew has the tools and expertise to handle these jobs properly. We also work on general carpentry and construction tasks that often go hand-in-hand with door and window projects.
What should I expect when your team arrives at my home?
Gibson's Southwest Maintenance sends a professional crew that will arrive within your scheduled appointment window. Our team will introduce themselves, answer any questions you have, and discuss the scope of the job with you. Depending on what needs to be done, we may perform an inspection or get started right away, keeping you informed throughout the process.
How does Gibson's Southwest Maintenance handle cleanup after the work is finished?
We believe in leaving your home in the condition we found it, which means we clean up after ourselves and remove debris from the job site. A truly professional approach includes a final walkthrough with you to make sure everything meets your expectations and the work area is safe and clean. This attention to detail is what separates quality handyman work from a rushed job.
Why should I hire a professional instead of tackling repairs myself?
Professional handymen have the right tools, experience, and knowledge to diagnose problems correctly and fix them the first time, which saves you time and money in the long run. DIY mistakes can lead to safety hazards, especially with electrical work, plumbing, and roofing where improper installation can cause serious damage or injury. We also stand behind our work, so if something isn't right, we fix it without charging you again.
