4 years agoStephen and his team at Great Alaska Flooring were a very big help on finding the right tile for us. I even spent a lot of time asking him for advice on installing the tile myself and he gladly shared techniques. -

5 years agoThis team led by Stephen Wood is simply the best! This crew has helped me quite a bit over the past years and I have never taken time to share my experiences. I recently had an issue at my property that needed immediate attention. As we all know Immediate in Kodiak doesn't typically lend to actually getting help immediately. But somehow the crew was able to help out sooner than expected and it was all hands on deck! Major demo and repair to my basement flooring then seamlessly installed new vinyl plank flooring, all with speed and care. Stephen offered helpful advice and stayed in touch throughout all their work. I am so pleased with their effort. Working with Great Alaska Flooring is worth every penny! -

Does The Great Alaskan Flooring, Inc charge for estimates?
We don't charge for estimates. Our team will visit your home or property to measure the space, discuss your flooring needs, and provide you with a fair price for your project. During the estimate, we can also bring samples and share recommendations based on your specific situation, whether you're installing carpet, tile, hardwood, or considering refinishing existing surfaces.
Are you licensed and insured?
The Great Alaskan Flooring, Inc maintains the proper licensing and insurance to protect both your property and our crew during any project. We recommend asking to see proof of our current licenses and insurance coverage before work begins-this protects you in case of accidents or damage and ensures we meet all local building codes and professional standards in Kodiak.

We specialize in carpet installation, tile work, and hardwood flooring. Our team has experience helping homeowners and property owners select the right material for their specific needs and spaces. Whether you're looking for new flooring installation or refinishing existing surfaces, we can guide you through material options and handle the professional installation to ensure quality results.
How long does a typical flooring project take?
The Great Alaskan Flooring, Inc can provide you with a specific timeline during your estimate, as project duration depends on the type of flooring, the size of the area, and any preparation work needed. We'll discuss start and finish dates, how many days each phase will take, and any factors that might affect the schedule so you can plan accordingly around the work.
What does The Great Alaskan Flooring, Inc include in cleanup after installation?
We handle the removal of old flooring materials and debris as part of our service. Our team will discuss the specifics during your estimate, including whether we'll move furniture and what the space will look like when we're finished. Proper cleanup and disposal of old materials are part of delivering a professional job from start to finish.
Why should I hire a professional instead of installing flooring myself?
Professional flooring installation requires specialized knowledge about subfloor preparation, material-specific techniques, and proper finishing that directly affects how long your flooring lasts and how it looks. Our team understands the unique requirements for carpet, tile, and hardwood-from acclimation periods to cutting and layout precision-ensuring your investment performs well and looks great for years to come. We also stand behind our work, which gives you protection that DIY installation cannot provide.
