Called them just now to get a quote and the person on the other line didn't even gave me a chance to explain before hanging up.. Worst customer service line I've ever experienced.

Honestly, I am in shock with how weird of an interaction I just had. I called them on a Sunday at 5:00 pm, fully expecting to just be put on the schedule as my problem was not an urgent matter. I spoke to the rep who said that they had no techs available tonight and I would have to call another company. I asked if they could just put me on the schedule? He said that he had no way of scheduling me and had no way of having anyone call me back. Very bizzare.

I had seen Taylored restoration at many sites when working as a firefighter, and I had a chance to utilize their services this fall. My mother's house had a water leak in a boiler area that had gone unnoticed for some time. We utilized Taylored for the repair and couldn't be more happy with the service, price, and quality of work. At issue was shutting down the system long enough to remove most existing plumbing, excavate all the mildew, Sheetrock, and replace it in a timely manner. Temperatures in the 20's at night isn't an optimal time to turn off the heat. Gordon at Taylored was on time, communicated well, coordinated the repair with the HVAC company (Diamond Heating 10/10!) to effect repairs with as little disturbance and delay as possible for my elderly mom. The work was under time (early), on budget, and of excellent quality. They worked with me, and were considerate, clean and responsible. My father was a general contractor, and I have a long history building and repairing residential construction. Price was fair. Would highly recommend!

I had a unique task that normally you don't think of this company for. A friend passed away in her condominium, but her body was not discovered for five days. This led to quite a significant biohazard situation that needed to be cleaned up after the body was removed. Despite the fact that they had multiple large projects going on, they took the time to meet my schedule and get this job taken care of as quickly as possible. We needed to get into the condominium so that we could look for a will and other critical documents. Amy C was amazing, going out of her was to communicate every step and get the job done as quickly as possible. I am very grateful for her kindness, compassion, and diligence.

Their drivers cut people off on university drive with no blinker when roads are covered in ice. Don't trust them to drive, so wouldn't trust them for service.

FAQ

How does Taylored Restoration determine pricing for water damage restoration?

We assess the extent of water damage, including affected areas and materials involved, to provide a detailed estimate. Factors like water extraction volume, drying time, and any mold remediation needs influence the final cost. Free estimates are available upon request to give homeowners a clear upfront picture.

Are you licensed and insured for water damage and mold remediation work?

Taylored Restoration holds BBB accreditation since 1990 and has operated for over 50 years in Alaska, ensuring compliance with state regulations. Our teams carry proper licensing and insurance to protect properties during restoration. Homeowners can verify details through the Alaska Department of Commerce for added assurance.

Does Taylored Restoration handle mold remediation after water damage?

We specialize in mold remediation following floods or leaks, using professional equipment to remove growth from structures. Our process includes water extraction, rapid drying, and preventive treatments to stop further spread. Photos of our work show air movers and exposed areas being treated safely in utility rooms and damaged spaces.

What is your typical timeline and arrival window for emergency water damage calls?

We offer 24/7 emergency response to stabilize damage quickly, especially in Alaska's harsh weather, with teams arriving within hours of contact. Full restoration timelines vary based on damage scope, often spanning days to weeks for drying and repairs. Expect clear scheduling updates, with standard office hours from 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday and after-hours for urgencies.

How does Taylored Restoration handle cleanup and debris after water damage restoration?

We remove all waste, debris, and contaminated materials generated during water extraction and drying. Our teams ensure the property is left clean and safe, with proper disposal of soaked items and buildup. Homeowners receive a walkthrough to confirm everything is addressed before we leave.

Why is your professional water damage restoration approach safer than DIY methods?

Professional methods use industrial-grade extractors, air movers, and dehumidifiers to dry structures completely, preventing hidden moisture that leads to mold. DIY efforts often miss structural damage or fail to address Alaska's cold climate challenges, risking long-term issues like rot. Our 24/7 response and experienced teams ensure thorough, safe recovery without health hazards from improper handling.
