2 months agoI live in Anchorage and I put my trash can out for collection yesterday and nobody ever came and got it nobody got their service in my neighborhood and the garbage all over the ground and no notification at all that they weren't going to pick it up nobody answered the phone at the office obviously they don't really care about their customers -

3 months agoMy garbage cans have been set out every single pickup day for a year. Yesterday, I put them out like I always do. We had a short burst of heavy snow. The snow plow my apartment complex hired came and moved all the trash cans closer to the building so he could plow the parking lot. This happened after everyone was gone to work for the day. I came home to find my trash was still in my can because the cans weren't pulled out far enough. No one's trash had been picked up. It is a week before Christmas, and service is delayed next week, and my trash can is full. This not how small communities treat one another. Local companies would have pulled the cans an extra two feet and picked up the garbage. Big companies like Alaska Waste don't care how they treat their customers, they don't need to provide customer service. They enforce their invisible rules and make your life just a little more difficult and offer to charge you more to fix it. Do yourself a favor and go with a small, local business. And to the driver who did that yesterday, shame on you. What a lazy and inconvenient thing to do. Merry Christmas, Mike. -
