8 years agoBEWARE!!! They came in June 2018 to do maintenance on the AC unit. After the tech finished he explained that they ended up servicing both units even though we were just looking to replace one of them. He explained that they would take off the maint. for that one from the cost of the new unit. I didn't argue this point as I felt sorry for guy who was obviously not physically fit for this job, and looked like he might have a heart attack. The unit there were not supposed to do maint. on was working worse after they left, and the other stopped working completely. I called them at 6:30 PM to report it and left a voice mail. They returned my call the next morning. My boyfriend called, and they agreed to come out and fix it. The repair man showed up the next day without a call prior. He proceeded to explain how they messed up the unit by dropping the temperature down to 62 and leaving it there, then told me I would have to pay to have it fixed, but they would take it off of my bill if I bought a new unit from them. I told him that isn't what we were told, and that I needed to call my boyfriend. He said he would call his manager, and then he just left without saying anything. -

9 years ago$50 I like them; that's why I kept using them. The work has always been done on time and on budget, and the quality was very good. I've never had a problem with their work and I've never had to do a call-back. -

12 years ago$50 Mike arrives on time and is cheerful and knows everything about A/C units to keep them working in peak performance. I've used him several times. Always great. I've had other companies lie to me about needing "more" parts or service to get more money. These guys are really honest!

FAQ
How does Gulf Coast Ac determine pricing for HVAC services?
We base pricing on the specific needs of your HVAC system, such as maintenance, repair, or installation, with upfront pricing after a $49 service call fee and no hidden costs. Factors like parts required and job scope influence the final cost, and we provide competitive quotes compared to others. Free estimates are available for new installations, including head load calculations to ensure the right fit for your home.
Are you licensed and insured for HVAC work?
Gulf Coast Ac holds the necessary licensing through the Alabama Board of Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractors to perform HVAC services legally and safely. Our insurance covers liabilities during installations, repairs, and maintenance to protect both our team and your property. Homeowners can verify credentials via the state board for added peace of mind.
Does Gulf Coast Ac handle air filter maintenance and HVAC unit servicing?
We perform routine maintenance that includes cleaning air handlers and checking overall system condition, which covers replacing dirty air filters with clean ones to improve efficiency. Technicians inspect electrical systems, refrigeration pressures, and duct work during visits to keep units in peak performance. Regular servicing like this extends system life and reduces energy costs for Saraland homes.
What is your typical arrival window and scheduling process?
We provide a 1-hour arrival window for all scheduled calls to help you plan your day effectively. Our team arrives on time, often within five minutes of the agreed slot, based on consistent service patterns. This approach minimizes wait times and ensures prompt attention to your heating, cooling, or ventilation needs.
What does Gulf Coast Ac do with debris and waste after HVAC maintenance?
During maintenance or duct cleaning, we remove dislodged contaminants like dust and dirt using a powerful vacuum system that traps debris in HEPA bags for proper disposal outside your home. General cleaning of the air handler leaves no mess behind, and we sanitize systems to maintain indoor air quality. Your space stays tidy, with no evidence of our work left indoors.
Why is professional HVAC maintenance safer than doing it yourself?
Professionals use specialized tools like rotary brushes and high-powered blowers to clean ducts thoroughly without damaging insulation or spreading contaminants, which DIY methods often fail to achieve safely. We check safety concerns, electrical systems, and pressures that require training to identify, preventing risks like electrical hazards or refrigerant leaks. This expertise avoids common pitfalls that lead to system breakdowns or health issues from poor indoor air quality.
