2 months agoI bought my home Sept. of 2024. I began getting visits from my neighbors as they were introducing themselves and welcoming me to the neighborhood. They also offered me information about the lawn care service by a man that had been cutting about 5 yards in the neighborhood on a by weekly basis, and of course sharing the information about TDI Turf Doctor. Turf Doctor made an appointment with me to diagnose the weeds that were present, went over treatment options for my type of grass/Turf. I purchased a full year, 8 rounds of professional lawn care. After about the third round all 9 weeds identified were completely gone, EXCEPT FOR ONE!!! DALLIS GRASS!!! Very thick patches, also grew taller than my Bermuda/Zoysia. Had long whites that were about 12-18 inches long with what appeared to be large amounts of tiny seeds on the tips!! literally almost took over my entire front yard. I informed TDI and was told nothing they had would kill the Dallis Grass. The strong stuff was for commercial use only. They gave me a couple options and told me, use Round Up or take a shovel and dig all the patches up and then put down sand. They said that my Bermuda and Zoysia would eventually grow to cover all the bald spots in my yard. I don't know if I want to continue my service with TDI because I feel like, being a new customer with obvious needs to eliminate over 12 weeds in my lawn that they would have been eager and aggressive with my lawn. It took me Three days to shovel all of the large plugs of Dallis Grass. It was extremely deep rooted and very strong rooted. I filled Three large wheel barrows full of nothing but large plugs of Dallis Grass. Also the horrific eyesore that is left is just awful!! My front yard looks like 75 dogs came and dug out holes in my yard and then left the neighborhood. So, I wish that my results of achieving a beautiful lawn is even a possibility.
