Ashton, Dan, and Drew all did a perfect job. They communicated well about any potential issues and provided great solutions that looked professional in the end. I had 15 runs needed from a finished basement for electrical and cat6/POE cables. They exceeded my expectations on everything and I highly recommend them for any future work.

We had a deeply disappointing and concerning experience with this contractor and feel compelled to share the facts to help others make informed decisions. First, safety concerns: the open boxes left uncovered-a serious hazard, especially in a home with children. Additionally, we explicitly requested that receptacles be raised to counter height in our kitchen. While the boxes were moved, the receptacles were never installed, leaving us without power in our kitchen unless we moved the refrigerator to access the outlet behind it. When questioned, the contractor claimed this was "standard practice" for this type of job. However, this was not what we explicitly requested, we specifically requested the boxes being moved up not a remodel prep. It is unethical to alter the scope of work without consulting and obtaining the client's approval. This pattern of disregarding our requests and attempting to gaslight us into accepting incomplete work further highlights his lack of professionalism. Next, the contractor attempted to charge us for materials purchased without our consent or a binding contract. These were unused materials that he planned to use for other projects. At one point, he even offered to cut the bill in half, stating he would sell the materials to other clients. This double-dipping practice is unethical and raises serious questions about how often he charges multiple customers for the same materials. We wonder how many materials we and other customers had already paid for that he then recharged other clients. Additionally, he imposed a cancellation fee, claiming it was part of his policy, despite us canceling more than 48 hours before the appointment, as per his stated terms on the website at the time. Timestamped text messages we screengrabbed prove this. His enforcement of this fee under these circumstances further demonstrates his unprofessionalism. The contractor also retroactively cited terms from his website that we were unaware of until after he became angry. Our communication had been exclusively through calls and text messages, and at no point did he direct us to this webpage before the dispute arose. Once he did, it was clear he had a plausible opportunity to alter its content. Upon reviewing archived versions of the page using internet.archive.org, we confirmed these terms were not present earlier. This attempt to enforce retroactive terms from a webpage that could be altered at any time is both unprofessional and unethical, as such postings do not constitute legal agreements. Alarmingly, he used aggressive language during communications, which made us feel uncomfortable given that he knows our address. This led us to install security cameras in and around our home to ensure our safety and peace of mind. To add to the lack of professionalism, he attempted to bribe us to remove a negative review. This raises questions about how he maintains his high ratings. We refuse to compromise our integrity, as reviews should reflect genuine experiences. In stark contrast, we've worked with contractors like Behncke Construction and Pizano Electric, who provided detailed contracts with clear terms upfront and conducted themselves with professionalism. This contractor's disregard for transparency, safety, and ethical practices was a stark and disappointing contrast. We hope this review serves as both a warning to others and an encouragement for this contractor to adopt ethical and professional business practices moving forward.

E-mailed Dan with a request for a sub-panel installation to be installed within a few weeks and was quoted a price at that time (which was actually the price on the invoice I just received), Drew (from 12 Stones) came in to install it and did an excellent job...so bottom line, this company will be my go to in the future and I will recommend them. And as a last bit of information other companies I asked to provide estimates were either no-shows and/or were off the charts in pricing. Use these guys.

Our main contractor was having 12 Stone rough in some electrical and I asked if they could do some extra work for me. Drew & Ashton arrived right at 7:00 walked in with their tools and got right to work. They were professional, courteous, respectful, and did the project in record time. They even suggested a work around with a connection that saved me money. In time we will have more electricity work to be done and I will not hesitate to contact 12 Stone.

We have had 12 Stones do work for us at our home and business from small scale to much larger renovations and we have always felt like Dan and his team have gone above and beyond to communicate: when changes are needed, upfront about costs and timeframe, etc... Their team is professional and has always left us feeling like we have gotten more than we paid for. Integrity is a big deal for us, and never once have we doubted that this crew is made up of people who stand behind their word. Anymore it is so difficult to get a contractor to return a phone call - these guys are always on top of it. Their quality of work is second to none and we would have no problem recommending them to any who would ask.

FAQ

How does 12 Stones Electric determine pricing for electrical work?

We base pricing on the scope of the project, including materials needed and labor hours required for tasks like rough-ins, rewiring, or installing garage sconces and security cameras. Factors such as accessing finished spaces or handling home renovations also influence the final cost to ensure accuracy. We provide detailed quotes upfront after assessing your specific needs, so you understand exactly what you're paying for.

Are you licensed and insured for electrical services?

12 Stones Electric carries full licensing and insurance to cover all residential electrical work from repairs to renovations. Our team follows local codes to deliver safe installations, whether wiring security cameras or upgrading service panels. Homeowners can verify our credentials through standard industry checks for peace of mind.

Does 12 Stones Electric handle installing garage sconces and security cameras?

We manage installations for garage sconces, security cameras, rough-ins, rewiring, and electrical work during home renovations. Our electricians use components like old work ceiling boxes and ensure professional results that integrate seamlessly with your setup. These tasks require precise wiring to meet safety standards and avoid future issues.

What should I expect for arrival times and scheduling with you?

12 Stones Electric arrives on time, often right at the scheduled window like 7:00 AM, with tools ready to start work immediately. We communicate the game plan upfront and update you on any adjustments during the job. This approach minimizes delays and keeps your project moving efficiently from start to finish.

How does 12 Stones Electric handle cleanup after electrical jobs?

We leave your home clean and professional after completing work like wiring runs or installing light fixtures. Our team removes debris from tasks involving service panels, meter bases, or ceiling boxes to restore your space as we found it. This includes sweeping up dust and securing all areas for immediate use.

Why is hiring you safer than doing electrical work as a DIY project?

Our professional training ensures safe handling of complex tasks like rewiring or security camera installs, reducing risks of electrocution or fire that DIY attempts often overlook. We identify potential issues early, such as in finished basements, and provide code-compliant solutions with proper tools. Homeowners avoid hazards by letting us manage power disruptions and precise connections that require specialized knowledge.
