2 years agoWe had a challenging project for Tim and his crew with almost 2000 square feet of madrone flooring. Tim went above and beyond to repair and refinish our complicated floor. He and his crew meticulously filled extensive gaps and the finished product is practically flawless. In addition, his customer service was terrific and all of it was at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend Tim and his crew for any complex projects. -

2 years agoAfter getting multiple quotes, we decided to go with Tim because of his knowledge/passion, quick communication, and creative idea for completing a repair (others continued to suggest replacing all of our flooring instead of discussing the repair we wanted). Tim refinished the floors of our 1940s home, and he did a wonderful job. We had a very short timeline to work with, and Tim completed our project with great efficiency. He was communicative throughout the project, and he even sent pictures as he went (so helpful). Thanks Tim! -

3 years agoI found Wood Tiger online and was happy with the results of their work. Tim did a great job refinishing the floors in two bedrooms and a living room/entryway of my 1950s home in SE Portland, in 2018. He was a great listener, very positive, and responsive. The finished floors gleamed and were smooth- he removed unsightly dark stains. Tim even replaced the existing ugly metal floor grate with a beautiful custom wooden grate that matched the floor. The Bona finish that Tim recommended turned out great. Friends and family agreed that the floors looked super. When it came to selling the home, the floors made a significant difference in the resale price and it sold immediately. One of the reasons I hired Tim after meeting with a couple businesses is that he understands the aesthetics of wood and has that unique strength and perspective. The price was reasonable. Lastly, he's a nice person. I recommend Wood Tiger and would use them again. -

FAQ
How does Wood Tiger Floors determine pricing for hardwood floor refinishing and stair transformations?
We base pricing on the project's scope, including square footage, wood type, and any repairs needed, such as madrone flooring fixes. Custom quotes ensure fairness by accounting for materials, labor, and your specific vision. Free estimates are provided after an on-site assessment to give you a clear, detailed breakdown.
Are you licensed and insured?
Wood Tiger Floors carries full licensing and insurance to protect your home and our team during every project. This coverage handles any potential accidents or damage, giving you peace of mind. We gladly provide proof upon request before starting work.
Does Wood Tiger Floors handle stair carpet removal and replacement with matching wood treads?
We specialize in removing carpet from stairs and installing matching wood treads to create a seamless hardwood look. Our crew manages the full process, from demo to refinishing, even if you choose to paint the risers yourself. This approach ensures durability and a professional finish on challenging transformations.
What is the typical timeline for your flooring projects?
We deliver projects on time by setting clear schedules upfront, with most refinishing and stair jobs completing within the agreed timeframe. Factors like floor size and repairs, such as on 2000 square feet of madrone, influence duration, but our crew communicates any adjustments promptly. Expect minimal disruption as we coordinate arrival windows to fit your routine.
What does Wood Tiger Floors do with debris and how do you leave the job site?
We handle all debris removal, including old carpet and wood scraps, hauling it away after each project. Our team cleans the area thoroughly, leaving your home ready for immediate use. This includes vacuuming and wiping down surfaces to minimize dust from refinishing.
Why is hiring you for hardwood refinishing safer and better than doing it yourself?
Our expertise with intricate repairs and large-scale projects like madrone floors prevents common DIY errors such as uneven sanding or finish bubbles. Professional tools and techniques ensure a high-quality, long-lasting result without health risks from dust or chemical exposure. We focus on safety protocols and precise matching to stairs, avoiding costly fixes later.
