Ace electric came has always been my goto when needing any electrical work done. Originally I had them install a fan and a couple switches in my old house. After building my new house I remember the professional quality they provided and had them install more fans in my kids rooms and also had them run cat6 Ethernet in my house. I haven't had any issues with the service or quality of their work.

EDIT: One week later and the GFCI is shutting itself down again and all other outlets are working. This dispels the idea put forth by the electrician, Ray Leleux, that there had been a power surge causing the problem. Fairly disappointed with the service I received. We had a GFCI outlet that had shut down several times one day. That indicates there is a problem and the GFCI is doing it's job to prevent something worse. When Ace Electric sent their tech out a couple of days later, he had no solution. He used his circuit tester to tell me that the GFCI and its companion outlet were now working - something that I already knew. In answer to my question "What made this happen? The GFCI does not shut down unless there is a problem." He said it could have been water, or could have been to many things drawing electricity from that outlet or it could have been a power surge. All of which I denied. If it was a power surge, why did the GFCI shut down five times only to be reset. He offered no other thoughts and charged me a $79.00 dispatch fee. Today, a woman called from their office to ask what had happened because they noticed the paperwork indicated that the tech had done nothing. We explained and she said she would talk to him. We will wait to hear from them, but I don't plan to use them again. He used his circuit tester and we talked. No solution and I am still waiting for the GFCI

I was referred to this company by a person who has used them for years and they came and changed me $279 to change out 2 light fixtures. Two other lights, which were looked at, I was told needed new bulbs. They are not working. The wires to the recessed light in my living room are not working and the new fixture doesn't work. I called the company and requested that the electrician return to repair the broken fixtures that he told me only needed new bulbs. Today at 7:07 am, the office worker called me and told me that Ray, the electrician was on his way, if that was ok with me. Luckily, I wake up at 7 AM even though I am a 100% disabled veteran who also has Active Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis! Well, at 7:27 am, the office worker called me to inform me that Ray was ill and was going home so he would not get me sick! I think this is the office worker playing games with me since I called after I tried putting in the new bulbs and discovered that the electrical lines were not working and the electrician didn't do his due diligence when he came the first time and changed me $279 to change out 2 light fixtures! I have since called and asked the office worker to speak to the owners and she told me that they are retired and don't come in the office! I would have to speak to the office manager and they would call me later. It is now 9 am and I am still waiting on that call. I would not recommend this company to anyone! Update: the office manager called me finally at noon and was more interested in defending the rude and incompetent employees than satisfying this customer! Then another employee called my health care worker who recommended them to me and proceeded to lie to her about me! When I spoke up and told her to stop lying to her, the employee hung up! Rude! Do not use this company. They are incompetent, rude and more concerned about themselves than the customer!

I've always used Ace and loved their services. Today I called for information on rewiring my home and the secretary refused to give me any information at all on anything and just kept repeating that someone has to come out for pricing. I would've done that but I just had a few simple questions and she refused to help or direct me to anyone who could

FAQ

How does Ace Electric determine pricing for electrical work?

We provide free estimates for all residential and commercial electrical projects, so you'll know the cost before we begin any work. Our pricing depends on factors like the scope of the job, materials needed, labor time, and travel costs to your location in Lafayette. We're transparent about all fees upfront to help you budget accurately and avoid surprises on your final bill.

Are you licensed and insured?

Ace Electric maintains the proper licensing and insurance required to perform electrical work safely and legally. Before hiring any electrician, it's important to verify these credentials, as they protect you if something goes wrong and ensure the work meets local electrical codes and safety standards.

Does Ace Electric handle generator installation and exterior lighting?

Yes, we specialize in both generator installations and exterior electrical work, including parking lot and pole lighting for residential and commercial properties. Whether you need a backup generator for power outages, new construction wiring, restoration work, or everyday repairs, our team has the hands-on expertise to handle projects of any size.

How long does electrical work typically take, and when can you schedule a visit?

Ace Electric completes jobs efficiently based on the complexity of your project. Simple repairs like outlet or switch replacements may take less than an hour, while larger projects like generator installations or rewiring can take several days. We recommend contacting us directly to discuss your specific needs and find a scheduling window that works for your home or business.

What does Ace Electric do with debris and how will my property be left after the job?

We treat your home and business with respect, cleaning up after ourselves and leaving your property in good condition. Before starting work, we discuss what the job requires and any potential damage to walls, siding, or landscaping. If additional repairs are needed beyond electrical work, we'll let you know upfront so you can arrange other contractors if necessary.

Why should I hire a professional electrician instead of doing electrical work myself?

Electrical work is dangerous without proper training and licensing. Mistakes can cause electrical shocks, fires, code violations, and costly damage to your home or business. Professional electricians understand local safety codes, use proper equipment and techniques, and carry insurance to protect you. We also stand behind our work with warranties, so if something goes wrong, we fix it at no additional cost.
