Poor communication and no follow up. Booked an appointment, tried to confirm with the company that we were scheduled and confirmed, appointment date came and went and never heard from them.

Stanley was hired to renovate a bathroom in my home. After taking $26,300 from me he abandoned the site 6 months later, with nothing finished. The job was supposed to take one moth at most. He blamed me for this and refused to pull a permit. now, he will not return my calls. He is not licensed for plumbing or electrical. The plumbing he did install, flooded my home and it cost another $17,000 to fix that. He is a fraud and will steal from you! He knew I was a single mother and took advantage of my kindness and trust in every way possibly. RUN! This is the worst experience I've ever had with a contractor. He Took over $20,000 and did nothing but damage my home. I'm doing my best to have his license revoked but finding out he's still currently allowed to continue doing this in South Carolina to other peoples homes. He took advantage of a single mother because he knew he could.he was fined for lying about his contractor license by LLR. He still has not paid me any of the 20k he stone from me. Do not hire this man you will regret it.

I signed an agreement with One Stop Contracting on July 15 for a fireplace reface and about 300 sq ft of new flooring. They told me the project would take around 3 weeks, but we didn't wrap up until October. While I'll say the finished work turned out well in the end, the communication and scheduling were unacceptable. There were easily 15-20 different dates that they failed to show up. On multiple occasions, mine and my husband's texts and calls were completely ignored when we were trying to get updates or confirm when work would resume. We had made it clear from the start that we wanted the project completed before our September move-in date, which should've given them plenty of time since they said start to finish this would take 3 weeks, so we wouldn't have to live through renovations. They were unable to meet that timeline. At one point, the floors were left unfinished with nails exposed, all while I had 3 pets running around - which was unsafe. Another serious concern is that one of their workers took speakers from our home. The speakers were eventually returned, after we raised this issue, but not in the same condition. I also want to mention that I have additional renovation projects planned, and my intention was to hire One Stop again after seeing how this first project went. However, because this small project took so long and poor communication, I won't be working with them again. If this smaller job took several months, I can only imagine how long a larger project would drag on. It's also worth noting that when I first hired One Stop there was a negative Google review for this business that has since been removed, which I find concerning given my experience

FAQ

How does One Stop Contracting determine pricing for carpet installation or kitchen remodels?

We assess the scope of work, including measurements, materials needed, and any site challenges like uneven subfloors from older homes. Custom quotes break down labor, materials, and potential extras to help you budget accurately. This approach ensures transparency so you understand costs upfront before committing.

Are you licensed and insured for services like flooring and drywall?

One Stop Contracting carries full licensing and insurance to cover all our projects, from carpet installation to roofing. This protects your home and investment if issues arise during gutting or renovations. Homeowners can request proof of credentials at any time to verify our qualifications.

Does One Stop Contracting handle bathroom renovations and fireplace refacing in challenging spots?

We manage full bathroom renovations, including gutting old spaces and adding new ones, even in 100-year-old homes where nothing is level. Our services extend to fireplace refacing and installing flooring or carpet in difficult areas. The crew uses their expertise in concrete, drywall, and insulation to complete these niche tasks effectively.

What timelines should I expect for projects like flooring or full kitchen remodels with you?

We provide clear timelines upfront, such as around three weeks for fireplace refacing and 300 square feet of new flooring. Larger jobs like multiple bathroom renovations or kitchen remodels depend on project size but aim to stay on track with regular updates. Factors like house age or site prep can influence completion, and we communicate any adjustments promptly.

How does One Stop Contracting handle cleanup and debris after carpet or siding installations?

We remove all waste and debris from gutted spaces or installations, leaving your home clean and ready for use. The crew hauls away old materials during projects like flooring or kitchen remodels to minimize disruption. This includes sweeping, vacuuming newly installed carpet, and ensuring no mess remains before we leave.

Why is hiring you for insulation or roofing better than attempting DIY?

Our team handles complex tasks like fitting insulation in tight spots or roofing on uneven structures, avoiding common DIY errors that lead to leaks or poor energy efficiency. Professionals ensure proper subfloor prep and secure installations that last, unlike amateur attempts which often fail under wear. Clear communication throughout keeps the process smooth, reducing stress compared to managing it alone.
