10 months agoI called John Kivel Electric this morning to set up an appointment to solve a problem with a GFI outlet . Instead of an appointment he had me walk through a few checks that he thought could have been the cause. He solved the problem over the phone, and then wouldn't charge me. Amazing! He will definitely be my first choice electrician in the future. -

1 year agoI've just discovered a treasure in John and Connie Kivel of John Kivel Electric! I had several electrical projects in mind for my new home. The first electrician I called fixed a few things but then disappeared. After 6-8 weeks, a couple of my issues had become more pressing. That's when I found John. He and his wife/partner Connie were at my door within an hour and quickly solved my immediate problems. We agreed to continue working on the rest after my incoming house guests left. However, just 2 days before they arrived, a rainstorm knocked out my outdoor power. I called John & Connie and caught them as they were preparing to leave town. Again, within an hour, they arrived on my doorstep. John quickly located the problem and fixed it. Right after they left, I remembered I'd blown a fuse when I was trying to fix the problem myself, and my guest rooms had no power. I called John and he was able to tell me how to correct that over the phone! John's electrical expertise is apparent. What makes John Kivel Electric really special to me is their availability, responsiveness, understanding, and wide range of experience. I learned a lot about my new home in talking with John and Connie. They explain things clearly and offer much appreciated cost & energy effective suggestions. They're genuinely friendly and caring - and they're fun people. I feel like I've found an exceptional electrician and a couple of great new friends.
