17 years ago. Jim scheduled an appointment with me to measure the staircase and give me the appropriate feet of carpet necessary for me to order from another vendor. He called to confirm and came when he said he would. He then called me when the carpet had been delivered and scheduled a time for installation. He called to confirm and arrived promptly when he said he would be there. He answered my questions in a professional manner when he arrived and he did the job in less than an hour. He was not supposed to install it but when his crew wasn't able to, instead of rescheduling the appointment, he did it himself. He is very reliable and professional and I had a perfect experience. -

FAQ
How does Carpet Art of America determine the cost of a carpet or stair runner installation, and can I get an estimate before committing?
We base our pricing on the size of the area, the complexity of the layout, and the type of custom carpet work you need, such as stair runners, hallways, or rooms. For staircases and other detailed areas, we take careful measurements so you only order the carpet and rug pad you actually need. We provide a custom quote after measuring and discussing your project so you understand the scope and cost before any work begins. If you are supplying your own carpet from another vendor, we can still measure and advise you on the proper amount to order.
Are you licensed and insured, and how can I feel confident about the quality of your carpet installation work?
Carpet Art of America operates as a professional carpet and flooring contractor and carries the appropriate business credentials and insurance for this type of work. Our team has decades of experience focusing on custom carpet projects in both homes and businesses. We emphasize precise measuring, clean craftsmanship, and attentive service on every job so the installation looks intentional and fits your space properly. Many property owners return to us for additional projects because they are comfortable with the consistency of our work over time.
Can Carpet Art of America handle custom stair runners, rug pads, and detailed carpet work around features like fireplaces?
We specialize in custom carpet projects such as stair runners, rug pads, and carefully fitted carpet for unique architectural details. Our work includes installing patterned runners on straight or curved staircases, extending runners into hallways, and creating custom-cut pieces around fireplaces and in living rooms. We also provide and install rug pads, including delivery and setup when needed. Whether the project is residential or commercial, we tailor the installation to the exact dimensions and features of your space.
How far in advance should I schedule, and what should I expect on the day your installers arrive?
Carpet Art of America schedules projects by appointment, and lead times can vary based on the season and the size of your job, so it is helpful to contact us as early as possible once your carpet is selected. We set a specific time to visit your property for measuring and later for installation, and we confirm those appointments so you know when to expect us. On installation day, our crew arrives during the agreed-upon window with the tools and materials needed for your custom carpet work. We work efficiently while being careful in your home or business so the job is completed within the time frame discussed during planning.
When you install a stair runner or room carpet, how do you handle cleanup and any leftover materials?
We aim to leave your home or business clean and ready to use as soon as the carpet work is finished. During installation, we collect scrap pieces, packaging, and other debris so it does not spread through your space. At the end of the job, we vacuum the newly installed carpet or stair runner and check for loose threads, visible seams, or other details that need attention. Any excess material or rug pad that is worth saving can be left neatly for you if you would like to keep it, or we can remove unwanted waste as part of the service discussed in advance.
Why should I hire you for custom carpet work instead of trying a DIY carpet or stair runner installation?
We focus on precise measuring and layout so patterned carpets and runners line up correctly on stairs, curves, and in larger rooms, which is difficult to achieve with DIY methods. Our installers know how to handle transitions, edges, and tricky areas like landings and fireplaces so the carpet lies flat and wears evenly. Proper tools and installation techniques also help prevent issues such as loose edges, premature wear, or bunching on stairs, which can be both unsightly and unsafe. By having us handle the entire process, you get professional results that are designed to last and to fit the space exactly as intended.
