Tried to get this company to come give a estimate for a 2 acre fence set several appointments they failed to meet any appointment. Ended up going with another company that wanted to make money. The old saying you snooze you lose.

I recently moved here from out of the area and was working w these guys to have my fence completed prior to move. They were the only ones who took the time to listen to what I wanted and that just swinging by wasn't an option. We sent pics and sketches back and forth. Kaleb did an amazing job of seeing the vision and even improved on it. They worked fast and followed up to make sure everything was perfect. When my moving went sideways they even ran over at the last minute and helped unload heavy furniture for me. I honestly feel like I met new family in hiring them for my fence. Their price was fair. (Another guy quoted me over $3k more which having just built a larger version of this myself I knew was 7xs the cost of materials) I can't say enough good things about these guys.

I called to set an appointment for a quote, no one answered. I received a call back from a man I'm assuming he is the owner. We set a date and time, that day came no show no call. I texted him and he called me back and said he forgot and was out on another job. Trying to be understanding I set another date and time, on this day it was raining all day so I rescheduled trying to be considerate. The new date and time was set, well that day has come and gone, another no show no call. I have text but have yet to receive a response. I was referred by a friend who has seen their signs up around the neighborhood. I told my friend not to refer anyone else to this unprofessional and unreliable company.

FAQ

Does National Fence and Gate offer free estimates, and how do you figure out the cost of a new fence or gate?

We provide custom quotes based on a visit to your property, where we measure the layout and discuss your needs. Pricing is determined by factors like fence or gate type, total footage, terrain, and any extra features such as gates or wire mesh. We install fencing for homes, farms, and commercial properties, so the scope of work also affects the final cost. We explain the main cost drivers up front so you understand what you are paying for before any work begins.

Are you licensed and insured for fencing and gate work?

National Fence and Gate operates as a fencing contractor based in Ironton, Missouri, and we stay informed about local requirements for fence and gate projects. We focus on safe work practices during planning, measuring, and installation to protect your property. For any project, we encourage homeowners to ask about current licensing and insurance details so they know who is responsible if an issue arises. We are glad to discuss this with you before you commit to a project.

What types of projects does National Fence and Gate handle, like chain link or farm fences?

We install and repair a range of fences and gates, including residential chain link fences, commercial chain link enclosures, and farm or agricultural fencing. Our work also includes wooden split-rail fences with wire mesh, which are common for rural properties and boundary lines. We can add gates to these systems, from simple walk-through gates to wider openings for vehicles or equipment. We tailor each project to match the property layout and how you plan to use the space.

How long will my fencing project take, and how do you schedule the work?

National Fence and Gate schedules each project based on its size, the materials involved, and access to the property. A straightforward residential or farm fence typically has a clear start date and an estimated completion window that we discuss with you before work begins. We handle the full process from planning and measuring to installation, so the schedule includes time for layout, setting posts, and finishing gates. We also explain what might cause delays, such as weather or site conditions, so you know what to expect.

What can I expect from National Fence and Gate in terms of cleanup and how my property is left after installation?

We aim to leave your yard, farm, or commercial site in a neat and functional condition after the fence or gate is installed. During the planning stage, we walk the property with you so we know where materials, equipment, and any removed sections of old fence should go. We remove leftover fencing materials and obvious debris created by our work so the new fence line is easy to use and maintain. We also review the finished fence or gate with you so you can point out any areas that need attention before we leave.

Why should I hire you for fence and gate installation instead of doing it myself?

We manage the full process, from measuring and layout to secure installation, which helps ensure the fence follows property lines and functions as intended. Proper post depth, spacing, and anchoring are critical for both chain link and split-rail fences, and mistakes can lead to sagging, shifting, or early failure. Our experience with residential, farm, and commercial properties means we plan around buildings, terrain, and access needs before we start digging. By having us handle the work, you reduce the risk of structural issues, rework, and potential disputes over placement.
