When he came out and installed it, everything went fine. About a month and a half ago it went out. I called him and he said he would come out. He has yet to arrive. He is now screening my calls and not answering. He will not return my messages. If anyone asked me about him I would tell them to run from him.

FAQ

Does U-R Wired offer free estimates, and how do you determine the cost of electrical work?

We provide custom estimates based on the specific electrical issue, the complexity of the wiring, and how much time and material the job is likely to require. For many projects, we can give a ballpark estimate after you describe the problem, but more involved work may require an on-site visit to understand the panel, circuits, and access. We consider factors like whether walls or ceilings need to be opened, the condition of existing wiring, and any code upgrades that may be necessary. Whenever possible, we discuss options with you so you understand what is essential for safety and what is optional for convenience or future expansion.

Are you licensed and insured to work on my home's electrical system?

We operate as a professional electrical service based in Baltimore, MD, and we perform work with proper licensing and insurance appropriate for our trade and location. This means your home or business is protected while we troubleshoot wiring problems, install new circuits, or work in your electrical panel. Working with a licensed and insured electrician helps ensure the job meets electrical code and reduces the risk of hazards from incorrect installations. You can always ask us to explain how we approach permitting and code compliance for your specific project.

Can U-R Wired handle installing or repairing things like electrical panels, light switches, and ceiling light fixtures?

We handle a wide range of electrical tasks, including installing and servicing electrical panels, wiring for switches, and ceiling light fixture installations. Our work includes running and securing wiring in boxes and walls, making proper connections, and ensuring everything is safely grounded and code-compliant. We also address troubleshooting when a fixture stops working, such as checking wiring connections, switches, or the circuit feeding that area. For more specialized needs like home theater wiring, we can route power and low-voltage lines in a way that keeps your setup organized and safe.

How far in advance should I schedule, and what should I expect for arrival windows when you come out?

U-R Wired schedules electrical work based on the scope of the project and current workload, so simple service calls can often be booked sooner than larger installations. For most appointments, we offer an arrival window so you have a reasonable idea of when to expect us, rather than waiting all day. If troubleshooting reveals a safety concern, we explain whether the work needs to be done immediately or can be scheduled for a later date. We encourage you to describe your issue in as much detail as possible when you contact us so we can plan enough time and bring the right materials.

What can I expect from U-R Wired in terms of cleanup and how you leave my home after electrical work?

We aim to leave your home or business as neat as possible after completing electrical work. When we open walls, ceilings, or access panels, we keep debris contained and remove old wiring, boxes, or fixtures that are no longer needed when practical to do so. We collect scrap wire, packaging, and other job-related waste so your space is not left cluttered from the installation. If a project requires another trade, such as drywall repair or painting after we finish, we explain that in advance so you can plan follow-up work.

Why is it safer to have you handle electrical work instead of doing it myself?

Working with electrical panels, exposed wiring, and light switches carries a risk of shock, fire, or code violations if the work is not done correctly. We are trained to de-energize circuits, verify that power is off, and use proper connectors, box sizes, and grounding methods that a DIY approach may overlook. Our installations are done with local electrical codes in mind, which helps protect you if you ever sell your property or have an inspection. By having us perform the work, you reduce the chance of hidden faults that could cause nuisance tripping, damage to equipment, or long-term safety issues behind the walls.
