9 months agoOn May 23, 2025, around 12:50 pm, the driver of Floormax vehicle 5GA0359 was driving like a madman cutting across all the lanes on route 40 to get to the left lane. Multiple cars had to slam on their brakes, including myself. I had my baby in the car and I honked, barely making it to stop. He then continued to make gestures and, might have given me the middle finger, while I drove past. This is outrageous. Will never consider floor max for service. -

11 months agoInferior service, inferior product. The wood they sold me as "most durable" looked like garbage after only a few months-and I have no pets, children, and dont even wear shoes in my house. Dropping your cell phone on the floor instantly leaves a dent. Still finding glue marks and spacing between slats a year later. When I contacted them immediately after install and told them of my issues with the wear, they told me "that's how hardwood floors are, you have to be careful with them". I've lived with hardwood floors for 30+ years, including three full renovations. I recommend you go elsewhere-ANYWHERE else. -

11 months agoI forgot to mention the name of the amazing sales representative who was the reason I left such a rave review. Patrick S. was by far the most helpful and honest person I've dealt with in a long time. I needed the flooring samples for a home in another state and had trouble with getting help from several local stores (if I wasn't buying from them...too bad). He asked me what color samples I needed and contacted the manufacturer directly. I had my samples within a week! I will direct anyone looking for flooring in Maryland to this young man. He is definitely an asset to FloorMax, give this guy a raise! -

1 year agoI have worked with Amir for many years on many flooring projects in my home. He most recently completed our first floor with LVP and our bathroom floors with tile and Schluter Heat Floor. We could not be happier with Amir and the crews of Floor Max. They will treat you right with quality and price.

FAQ
Does FloorMax offer free estimates, and how do you determine the cost of new flooring or carpet installation?
We provide project-specific quotes based on the size of the area, the type of flooring you choose, and the complexity of the installation. For example, carpet, laminate, vinyl, ceramic tile, and hardwood all require different materials and labor steps. Existing conditions, such as removing old flooring or needing repairs or re-stretching, also affect pricing. We walk you through the options so you understand how each choice impacts your overall cost.
Are you licensed and insured for carpet and flooring installation work in homes?
We operate as a professional flooring contractor and are licensed and insured to perform carpet and flooring installations and repairs in our service area. This means our crews are covered while working in your home, which helps protect you during the project. Our experience includes installing and repairing carpet, laminate wood or stone, vinyl, linoleum, ceramic tile, and hardwood flooring. We are also equipped to sand and finish existing hardwood floors using proper methods and equipment.
Can FloorMax handle carpet re-stretching, repairs, and replacing old basement flooring like in your before-and-after photos?
We handle a wide range of carpet and flooring repair tasks, including re-stretching loose carpet and repairing most types of flooring. If you have an older basement floor that needs to be removed and replaced, we can install new carpet or other flooring materials such as laminate, vinyl, or tile. Our team can also address issues like worn or damaged areas so the new surface looks consistent. We tailor our approach to the condition of your existing floors and the type of material you select.
What should I expect for scheduling, arrival time, and how long your flooring projects usually take?
FloorMax schedules installations and repairs for a specific date and arrival window so you know when to expect our crew. The total time depends on the size of the space, whether old flooring must be removed, and the type of material being installed, such as carpet, laminate, vinyl, tile, or hardwood. Tasks like sanding and finishing existing hardwood floors can take longer because of drying and curing times between steps. We discuss the expected timeline with you beforehand so you can plan around the work in your home.
How does FloorMax handle cleanup and old flooring removal after installing new carpet or other flooring?
We remove the old flooring materials that need to come out as part of the project scope, such as worn carpet or damaged underlayment. During installation, we keep work areas organized and handle scraps, packaging, and other debris so they do not spread through your home. At the end of the job, we clean up our work area and leave the new carpet or flooring ready for regular use. If there are any special disposal needs, we review those with you before the project begins.
Why is it safer and more effective to have your team install or repair carpet and flooring instead of doing it myself?
We work with many types of flooring every day, including carpet, laminate wood or stone, vinyl, linoleum, ceramic tile, and hardwood, so we understand how each material should be prepared and installed. Proper techniques for stretching carpet, leveling and repairing subfloors, and sanding and finishing hardwood are important for both appearance and long-term performance. Professional tools and methods help avoid issues like ripples, gaps, loose tiles, or uneven finishes that can happen with DIY attempts. By having our team handle the work, you get flooring that is more likely to wear evenly, stay secure, and perform well over time.
