2 years agoMr. Tony Claro the worse contractor you can hire. Did a job for us and, when things did not work, we call and wright him to come to have it repair, promise to come and did not show up, do not work with him he is the worse contractor you can ever have. He is not a professional person. -

2 years agoEverything started off ok. We called Grayson explaining that we needed a privacy fence installed around our pool that was in the process of getting built. We needed it done asap so that as soon as the pool was done we could get the inspection. Originally my wife wanted a plain vertical fence but Grayson showed options of fences he just did that he thought would be better and we picked one from those. We were nervous at first to give him half the money up front because upon searching google found some questionable stuff but no other company could start right away so we had no other option. Everything was ok until inspectors showed up. There is a support bar that goes across the middle of the fence, and Grayson had installed it on the outside of the fence which code considers to be a step. The inspector asked why the heck the fence guy put the bar on the outside when it's supposed to go on the inside and went on to say the support bar needed removed and moved to the inside of the fence where it should have been in the first place. Grayson strung us along for four weeks promising to come out and make it right, and no showed multiple times. He kept making excuses that he had to finish another job, his back hurt and he was too tired, etc and I tried to be patient and nice. Then he sends my wife an invoice for $600 asking us to pay him to fix his error. Tried to call him but he wouldn't answer my calls or return texts. I'm in the process of fixing it myself (and have a bunch of nails sticking through our brand new fence that I now have to go pull out) because he would not return calls(see pics). The pool contractor asked him if he knew how to build fences to code, and he claims somehow that we asked him to not build it to code, which is ridiculous. That's why we hired a professional in the first place. He Never asked us any questions about the middle bar, preference or anything. He was told to build the fence to code and screwed up and didn't want to take responsibility although he promised at first that he would. I would not recommend because he doesn't have the integrity to stand behind his work. If you end up having issues, and he has been paid, don't expect to see him. Lesson learned, if your fence requires an inspection make sure it's completed before he gets final payment. His word is not his word so be nervous for sure because you honestly don't know when he will show up and he makes lots of excuses. Seems to be he's only concerned about the money. -

He shows up when he says he will. Great communication. Gets the job done in a timely manner the right way. I highly recommend Grayson and his crew. He's a longtime Wilmington local, great guy to work with. -
