5 months agoCharges you $50 just to change your address. Everyone around here uses them so it's not like they are going out of their way to make a new route. Already had an account with them at our previous home, and this home already had the bin. All the had to do was update the address. Ridiculous. -

12 months agoThey picked up my garbage every week. Yet, when I wanted to cancel, they charge $50 to cancel their service, they also charge you extra just to start their service. And if you don't pay your final bill I'm assuming within 30 days then they send you to Bonneville Collections in Ogden which then adds a fee. Business like these needs to be investigated by the state, charge, charge, charge is all I see. Sad business less like this need to add fees to customers in a what seems to be a deceptive way. -

1 year agoOver the holiday time, had my payment mixed up and needed to send out another payment. Wasn't able to get to that, so they sent out an employee to our home in the country around 5:30 am to enter our property and pick up their garbage can. I'm not happy about that, that's how unfortunate events happen, I'm not going to steal a garbage can. I would've put the can out by the road, now they want $100 to redeliver the can. It's sad how business are turning out these days. Buy a "trash trailer" $10 a load at the local Box Elder County dump. -

1 year agoUpdate 3/28/24 - So after I made my positive update, things went along smoothy. Bill paid on-time. Trash picked up on time. They never responded to BBB complaint, so I couldn't update on my end or I would have marked it as "resolved". Thought this was behind me and them both. On 3/28/24 my trash was picked up as scheduled, but my dumpster disappeared. I reached out to them to find out "we just sent a letter this morning" but the office person wouldn't tell me the contents of the letter or where my dumpster went. I requested a call back. Owner, Val, called me back and was basically angry that I had filed a google review and BBB complaint (to which he informed me he doesn't respond to those), so he took my dumpster. I've been a customer for 17 years. Never missed a payment. As soon as there is a problem they won't respond. So I take action and they take revenge. This has been handled very unprofessionally on their end from the word go. Update 1/21/2024 - Econowaste responded so I have updated from 1 start to 3. The fixed my dumpster without having to replace it. It could have saved them and me a lot of time and frustration if their employees would have just been professional in the first place. However, I did appreciate them reaching out. If they intend to charge $50 to replace a dumpster (even if it's their fault) that needs to be in the contract or made known up front. The only reason I am leaving this at 3 stars is because of this ridiculous policy that even if they break the dumpster or the dumpster is faulty by the manufacturer, I don't think the customer deserves to eat that expense. Long story short. Today 12/29/23 their driver broke both mine and my neighbors dumpsters (setting them down too hard). Both are unusable. Contacted Tara at Econowaste and was told we would each be charged $50 to have our cans changed out. I explained that it was their employee that broke them and was told time and time again "that's the policy". Manager was not available and was told that the manager doesn't return calls anyway and not to expect an exception to "the policy". This is wrong. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. If you can avoid this company, you would be better off to do so. If they make it right, I will update this review. -

1 year agoScroll down on the reviews and you can see a review from Keisha who appears to be one of the companies own employees. It appears that they're trying to offset poor reviews from actual customers by having employees give them good reviews. On January 29 of 2019 I went to put my trash can in. When I looked in my trashcan I could see that it was a little over half full. I contacted Econo Waste and spoke to a woman who answered the phone. I explained the situation and was told there was nothing they could do. Then I was instructed to build piles of trash up at my residence if I run out of room, and they would pick it up next week.I explained to the woman on the phone that I was not willing to build up piles of trash at my residence and that I needed somebody to come out and pick up my trash. I was told that they were not willing to send a truck out because they were not in the area. I then asked to speak with a manager,I believe her name is Keisha, who told me the same thing. After getting nowhere with her I asked if I could speak to whoever was about her. She told me no one was above her. I pressed her on that and she said well there's the owners but they're not here. I told her I would like to speak to them about the poor customer service and that I've paid for a service and that it has not been done. She said that she could not give out the owners names I told her I was a paying customer and that I needed the service I am paying for to be done, That the solution she offered me is not acceptable or sanitary, that the owners information is public record and not a secret and I didn't understand why I as a paying customer could not contact them to explain the problem and try to have it resolve. She told me that something must have been stuck in the trash can. I told her I've looked at it and it is all quite loose and that I don't see what would've stopped the trash from falling out. She went on to tell me that when the trash is picked up by the arm it can pinch the trashcan creating pressure that stops the trash from falling out. I told her I understand but that I still need my trash picked up. I was told I can't do that for you. I let her know that this was not acceptable that I again am paying for a service that has not been done I then asked how Econo Waste would feel if I use the same excuse when it came to me paying them that I attempted to but it just didn't come through and it have to wait until next month to get it all. This company has horrible customer service I expressed a concern, was told that the mistake was probably on their side, then was told were not going to do anything to fix the mistake because it's inconvenient for them and to pile up trash outside of my can at my residence until next week. I would give them no stars if I could do not use this company they treat you like garbage
